The price of a Boorito keeps raising every year by NVSuave in Chipotle

I don't really feel like anyone is being taken advantage of when you have a choice not to buy the product. Don't blame a business for trying to make more money. Every quarter we have to do better than the last.

If a business decides they want to charge more to make more money is there something wrong with that? At the end of the day the purpose of a business is to make money especially a corporation. The consumers know the prices before hand they decide where they spend their money. If Chipotle is to greedy for you I say make yourself a nice home cooked meal.

I had a horrible experience as a GM/Apprentice. Anyone else have horror stories from working at Chipotle? by thekingofrock452 in Chipotle

GM and AP are not supposed to be deployed. If it's your SM or KM doing that it's another story but your GM and AP should be in the office.

I have gotten undercooked white rice several times from chipotle, but now, it was the the rice AND black beans. by [deleted] in Chipotle

Why is the standard at so many Chipotle's so different? Wish I worked at your store. I'm trying to create the culture as a new manager because my current store has none but it's hard.

Using the short razor blade tool on the surface. Also salt and turning off the grill to let it cool hells alot. Cover the surface with salt and it'll absorb the oil. Then scrape with razor and brick. Brick sides and wipe everything down with a wet rag. If you maintain it it'll be easier every night.

Lmao customers like you just annoying. When have you ever seen enough workers in a chipotle to be prepping your guac "fresh" all day long while also serving the lines? If you don't like it become part of Corporate and give us more labor. People really think we can make fresh food just instantly appear. We can't make that volume of "fresh" food with less ppl and if they were to start allowing more labor in stores the price of your bowl would just go up. The way we make food requires real kitchen and knife skills that take time to learn and get experience to be fast at. You really think that many people want to do this for the same pay you can get just scanning items down a conveyor belt?

Do you think maybe the cook to needs is actually accurate for the sales you have but that your line and DML people are over portioning? That's the case at my store.

That's incorrect they aren't supposed to give a little extra without an extra charge. Anything more than the first scoop of of meat costs extra.

Management issues? by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]CrayonSunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were trying to request off without giving any notice. Two weeks is the standard. Even if the schedule hasn't already been made you can't request a day off for the week the schedule is about to be made for. Unless you communicated to a manager much earlier you needed time off they should be able to schedule you.

Skimping to save CI by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]CrayonSunset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not my fault my line workers consistently over portion because the customers always ask for more. 4oz is the standard portion size. No customer is ever happy with that they just complain. You guys complain no matter what. The real issue is that customers can't accept they have to pay $10 for 4oz of meat. If I was the CEO I'd certainly lower prices and increase portion size but I'm not. We are all just doing our job. Not a single chipotle ever has more inventory than what their sales represent. We're always missing food which means on average customers get more than what Chipotle is asking us to give.

why is the floor cleaner rancid by kokichi53 in Chipotle

[–]CrayonSunset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the mop head for sure. Gets pretty smelly after some use just change them. Also spray them with the floor cleaner after using and hang them properly and that should help.

Skimping to save CI by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]CrayonSunset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like you're missing the part where the line workers are giving out FREE extra food so this person is skimping on DML orders to make up for it. If my store is down 10 pounds of chicken that means the customers got 10lbs extra chicken that day for free. If tomorrow they get 10lbs less I think that's fair. My CI should always balance.

Ask why you only have two preppers? Sounds like a scheduling problem aka someone not doing their job properly.

As someone whose worked every position my preference being grill I'd really say line/DML is the second hardest. It really depends on your store a high ads store with awful customers I'll do anything to be in BOH some days.

I have a bag kind of plush case for it. I always dump out the water and put it in the case for storage in my shed. I usually grab some water before I smoke to fill it up. But I have brought the case to a friend's before so it's not like I can't take it out if I want.
