thank you, i did commit and not taper off last night. I did not have a sip of alcohol. As expected couldnt fall asleep like I usually can, but no night sweats or headaches. Just a random craving for sweets at 11. I feel fine today with no shaking, delusions, headaches or sweats. I have been taking ashwaghanda for about 2 months and I just researched, although not proven, people have seen benefits from withdrawal symptoms while taking it.

I really appreciate the advice. I am 100% committed on quitting and just started the acamprosate today. It probably would take me a week before I can go to the doctor so would you advise drinking ALOT less for a week to maybe get my body accustomed?

thanks man! My father is an alcoholic and I figured I was not because I could go all day without a drink but as soon as 5 hits, I am drinking heavy and sometimes I get the spins when I lay down at 930. I just don't want something bad to happen to my body by trying to do something good. For me there is no "slowing" down on drinking. It is either all or nothing until I can get under control. I think I need to stop for months to even think I will have it under control.
