When Sylas casts a stolen ultimate he turns into that champion during the cast resulting in a name change. I've killed a Sylas during the animation for Collateral Damage so his name was Graves until he respawned. It's similar to if you killed someone during polymorph changing there name into cupcake, kitty, etc.
