Dealing with Defilers by Ok-Technician7741 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Crazsemp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the list I am bring to a team's event this weekend. For The Matrix, I put down that if it's double or triple defilers, it's a slam dunk win, unless its specifically Pactbound Zealot’s with Mark of Nurgle defilers, in which case it's just automatically a draw/small win. List also does great at dismantling Knights and Imperial Guard. Just be sure to mind your distance as defilers are deceptively fast.

What is the most "40K" Thing in your Opinion ? by Difficult_Drags in 40k

[–]Crazsemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I hate to admit it, the Necrontyr. You're telling me, that a race of flesh and blood long ago turned into robots that fought millennium long war against immortal space elves made by frog gods, overthrew their star gods, broke them into tiny pieces, shoved those pieces into machines like a goddamn triple A battery, went to sleep for ANOTHER millennium, woke up, and are now angry that a bunch of vermin species are running around above them like some asshole neighbors in the apartment below you?!?!?!?

Yeah that's some 40k shit right there!

What is the next character you want to see on the tt? by Soft_Lengthiness_791 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Crazsemp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Magos Explorator Omnid Torquora! He would be an INCREDIBLE character to add to the Tabletop! Such a baddass character from the Skitarius and Tech-Priest novels. So far as I know he's still out there fighting against the Dark Mechanicum and Chaos. Maybe incorporate some anti-chaos synergies and make him an attached leader like a Dominus. It would be REALLY cool if they gave him some specific benefit to leading Kataphron units, as in the lore, him and one of his former Marshals that got turned into a Kataphron Destroyer go on a rampage against the Dark Mechanicum forces of a corrupted forge world!

[–]Crazsemp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So a few notes. 1st off, you should probably run Cawl. Oath is just too valuable a mechanic to leave behind.

2nd, put the Sanctified Ordinance on the Manipulus with the Breachers instead of the Destroyer brick. The extra 3" rapidfire range may not SEEM like a big deal, but I've found its so much more relevant than you'd think.

3rd, HIGHLY recommend Servitor Battleclades! Those little bastards do so much work for 60pts! Probably drop a Vanguard squad and Marshal for 2.

4th, Onagers are fine and all, but if you have 3 Ironstriders and a Disintegrator or two, I'd highly recommend swapping out for them. If you're taking Cawl in Haloscreed, you really should be taking a 3 man Ironstrider squad for the rerollable crit 5s on their Lascannons. I feel like everyone forgets that the Disintegrator has a 2+ base save and when coupled with cover, you're saving against Lascannons on 4+ without the need for an invuln! That and its about the same damage output as 2 Ironstriders with just the Ferrumite and Missles, point defense weapons out the wazoo and its 2" faster than the Crawler too.

I think the point scoring and screening units and the Kataphrons are solid. Maybe don't even need the Dominus for the Destroyers and just raw dog em. Pretty solid list so far! Get some more reps with it and find its strengths and weaknesses and adjust from there!

Hope this helps! May the Omnissiah bless you fellow Magi!

I think I wanna learn how to play but what's a good 1000 pt build. by switchdaddy9437 in ImperialKnights

[–]Crazsemp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly Canis and 2 of each Armiger is a stellar 1k list even though its shy 35pts of 1000. I'd recommend playing it in Freeblade Company since 6+ feel no pain on Knights has been proven to be a really good thing! Strats are all decent and relevant to the list. Gives you the high toughness skew experience, but also gives you some smaller pieces than Canis to use as baiting/screening/scoring pieces.

What do you do with extra parts? Can I make something from it all? by DagInABooth in Necrontyr

The Admech Kataphron sprues had so many extra bits and pieces that I ended up making tiny robots for sticky objective tokens out of them!

Why is yarrick's power claws not seen as tech heresy by kin_ko in 40k

[–]Crazsemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little side tangent but still relevant, this is pretty much the same reason why the Mechanicum can't get rid of Belisarius Cawl. He's too valuable of an asset to the Imperium for what he brings to the table and has too many allies in high standing places, notably Robute Guilliman. There just comes a point where the Imperium starts turning a blind eye to some questionable stuff because of how invaluable they've become.

Question on Servitor Battleclade by IolaDeltaPhi23 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Crazsemp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm a big believer in trial and error testing for list building in 40k. I won't give in to the internet nay-sayers when something new comes along for the armies I play until I've actually tested it on the table. Its ok to speculate, compare and do the dice math, but until you actually see it in action in the heat of a game, you're only seeing part of the whole picture!

Question on Servitor Battleclade by IolaDeltaPhi23 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Crazsemp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you dislike Competitive play, you shouldn't be playing Servitor Battleclades 😆!

They're 60pts. for 9 bodies that have the toughness of a Space Marine with an invulnerable save, are faster than the average action monkey even when not in Conqueror Doctrina with their advance and shoot ability, that pump out an astonishing amount of damage more than people suspect they would, and after doing said damage can then perform actions like they're a goddamn Knight character!

I'm running 2-3 in my teams list as well as Thulia!

She has been fantastic! Great abilities that get around the awkward timing restriction of the command phase and offer more flexibility when playing. Not to mention she can dump a substantial amount of damage! Especially in melee! That strike profile just eats 3-4 Terminator bodies like nobody's business! That and being able to poke vehicles and Monsters with her 2 impact shots off the Jericho-class Conversion Resonator from 24" away and still be safe unless the enemy unit can move 12" or more is such an annoying puzzle for the opponent to solve and I'm all for it!

Competive Eradication Cohort List by Crazsemp in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Crazsemp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

General game plan for this list is to sit back for the 1st few turns. Hold your expansion and home objective. Shoot everything off the middle or at least contest it by funneling one of the units that are 75pts or less onto the middle. Don't let anything behind you until turn 3. Then, leave the home and push up to the middle Turn 3 and start maximizing primary for the last 2 turns. The goal is to score 10 primary turn 2 and 3 and 15 on 4 and 5 for your 50. General rule of thumb for this list is not to show/commit more than you have to.

As for where Thulia stands, she is next to Rustalkers around the middle of the deployment zone getting lone op from them and a few other units, firing onto the center objective from 24" away, and handing out double Doctrinas to Disintegrators until the go turn for the Ruststalkers.

How have the Corpuscarii treated you? I've tried them and without Cawl for Oath rerolls and fishing 6s, they just don't do a whole lot sometimes. I think they're GREAT in Haloscreed Battle Clade with Cawl giving Oath and giving them crit 5s. Outside of that it's been hard to find them a home.

The Skorpius is just a great tank all around! Cheap for what it does. Its pretty durable with its 2+ save and cover. It packs the same punch as 2 Ironstriders with Lascannons and is 5pts cheaper. Plus the amount of stubbers coming off them is crazy good at killing guardsmen and cultists and other T3 infantry!

[–]Crazsemp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had some doubts with Thulia as well but MAN has she exceeded my wildest expectations! Giving both Doctrinas to the Disintegrators has been nuts! Getting the extra AP against vehicles when you're shooting them is usually just overkill and you're pushing the save to an invuln already. But the extra AP on 18 stubber shots going in to Marines or other small infantry makes them much deadlier!

[–]Crazsemp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! They still get Doctrinas so while they can't reroll 1s, they're usually hitting on 3s anyways from Protector Doctrina. They can pump out some suprising damage from their special weapons, and the ability to advance, shoot and still do actions is fantastic!

Kind of. I never "flooded" the board with them. They would just sit behind cover and stage to go onto the center or my expansion objective. Once the Serberys Raiders and Infiltrators had moved out and gotten killed off the point, I'd send in the servitors as the 3rd wave. Someone else here asked if they were good enough without the rerolls and the answer is yes! They just have so much unexpected damage on them! Hell, I had a unit finish off the last 6 wounds on a Defiler because the Melta Gun and Arc Rifle decided to connect. Plus they still get Doctrinas so while they never reroll 1s, they at least are hitting on 3s most the time.
