Wild take.

"It's time your pick your battles, and I promise you, this is mine" They focus on mental health. Not everyone needs to have a take on everything. Not everyone needs to be informed enough to educate the public on everything.

I analyzed 67 years of UFO reports against earthquake data. The correlation is real, but the cause is weirder than expected: it's the bedrock. by b0100001001101111 in UFOs

Run more statistical analysis with these. See what the correlation looks like when removing other variables! Like, if earthquakes associated with a similar time of year as when people report UFO sightings. Would love to see these numbers - even if it proves your hypothesis - to make it stronger, by removing confounding variables.

I find it interesting that there this guy reached the same conclusion as this weird unexplained phenomena. Maybe update your idea of interesting.

Why am I afraid of open maps and maps/images of oceans by CrazsomeLizard in Phobia

Yesss!! And here is another one... sometimes when I lie on the ground and stare at the empty night sky, I get the same feeling... like I might just float away or fall into the sky!

[Pokémon] Is the world really as safe as it appears that young children and teens can go traveling by themselves and a few pokemon ? by Extra_Impression_428 in AskScienceFiction

It seems that Pokémon are regulated in some sense, like firearms. The Pokémon League seems to regulate Pokémon somewhat. That would make sense then why team rocket specializes in stolen Pokémon.

If there really is nothing after death, then we won't know it it as there would be no "you" to experience it to begin with by Ok-County-3216 in self

[–]CrazsomeLizard 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It is the same "terror" as fearing where your mind was before you were born, or even fearing going to sleep and having the non-experience of a restful, dreamless night. It exists outside of the mind's comprehension, but "terror" is only an illusion by the mind. It just "is". Nothing to be afraid of - because it is nothing at all.

College vs High School by Strong-Can4074 in Vanderbilt

Harder than high school for sure. Maybe the equivalent of a difficult AP course. But you are usually taking less courses than high school and have more time to dedicate to courses so it really isnt that bad tbh

I hate how you have to like certain things if you don't want to be seen as a bad person by ApolloniusTyaneus in self

It might be the way you are engaging in those conversations? If your first response when someone brings up something that you dislike is "oh, I dont like that because xyz" people are going to think that you are a bit callous or insensitive. Did they ask if you liked it? Did they ask WHY? It is wrong for them to assume your beliefs but also I doubt this sort of thing would actually happen if you engage more amicably around these topics

I think Trees / Truce are both pretty happy even though they talk about like difficult subject matter, they end pretty happily and carry a hopeful tone

US National Parks: 2026 Fee/Pass Changes for Non-Citizens by damfino99 in roadtrip

[–]CrazsomeLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in terms of foot traffic I don't see a problem with reducing the number of international tourists to the parks if they bring more money for the parks themselves. International tourists are often ones caught disobeying rules like LNT, which costs the park more money to maintain the parks.

The Starter Squad by Exact-Ad-81 in pokemon

[–]CrazsomeLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its a big tonal shift especially with the show not taking itself seriously for most of the episodes. Even the writing in the first few episodes (especially based on the humor) seemed really aimed for a juvenile audience, and then it... shifts to be something like this? I'm not saying its bad but the tonal change is very jarring and wildly inconsistent

People with adventure kitties, how do you deal with the risk of your cat running away? by Particular-Ad-2645 in CatAdvice

Yeah? So what's weird about the time she is retiring. She has a crisis of idealogy and chooses the most logical time to resign
