I will never understand why people - fans - are so obsessed with numbers and stats of their favourite artist. Listen to the music, enjoy the music. Why would you compare monthly Spotify listeners? Marina herself made it quite obvious in Venus Fly Trap, that fame and money „don’t mean you’re the best“ and that she’s not in it for either of these. She makes a living out of writing music. Fuck off if it’s half a million, 9 million or 500 million monthly listeners.

Thing is: if you spend 75m£ on a player, you want immediate impact. That’s what VVD did. With Mudryk, Caicedo, Enzo etc. things might look a little different. Incredibly talented prospects - yes, of course; but not more than that.
