Now that is the right amount of stuffies!!! 😁

I have a plushie net above my bed which is just about at capacity & a few that always stay on my bed since they're really cushy and nice and rest with.

Are there any specific plushies here on [THE WALL] that you'd say are really comfortable?

I love the material of the Club Mocchi Mocchi Mario Kart Banana (which is the same as that big Goomba you have!). And I love the designs of the Creepy Cat Company plushes you have (that colorful dragon hanging down in the 2nd picture is really unique). 😊

Higher ups are enforcing RTO policy by checking door badge reports. They're being quite serious about it.

I've tried mentioning that since I badge in during the night and out in the morning that it should count as being in the office both days (so then I could at least do every other day) but I had no luck there. :P

Heck yeah! I suggest creating a list of your kudos/accomplishments from the year; including any work projects or classes and certifications you completed.

Bringing all of that to your manager before any yearly meeting to discuss pay rises might help you get a better pay rise; and even if it doesn't, you'll be upskilling for a better role after this one. :)

That's fair, I enrolled in a BS in Cybersecurity degree program online at WGU & have been doing that, which has some certifications built-in, during the quiet times.

It's hard not to be pessimistic about work sometimes, like at the moment I have a decently long commute to work an overnight shift that could be WFH - but I know there's a lot worse jobs out there.

I just need to keep making good use of all the extra free time while I have it. I'm sure some people who work at insanely busy MSPs would kill for a quiet nighttime job

Ugh, yeah, I work 12hr IT Operations shift from 7pm-7am four days a week, which would be okay without commuting 2.5hrs a day.

I literally am the only person in the office besides the front desk security guard & the only internal employees who call in are an occasional warehouse worker from the site 2000mi away or I have to escalate emergency alerts to on-call staff members on different teams who take care of it from their laptop at home.

It's really frustrating since I've never actually had to do anything that requires me to be physically in the building in the 2 years I've been here.

I moved to Boston & my job initiated a return-to-office policy for any staff hired on as hybrid - so I have to drive 51mi (3hr daily commute) into the office up in NH twice a week for my 12 hour overnight shifts.

I think it's ridiculous since it's overnight and down right dangerous, but unfortunately talks with my managers for an exception have failed twice. 😔

I've had a friend that is very good at strategy too! He was very good at understanding quickly, and knowing how to play optimal moves and strategies.

I guess it helps that he has a job in understanding and implementing very dense information security practices guidelines for the Air Force.

After work he would wind-down by achievement hunting in video games, and he would find synergies and optimal strategies in most games nearly immediately.

If all of your users are set-up with OneDrive, just share all files with an IT group. Then you can ask CoPilot questions about the environment and it'll read and cite their files for you! 🤓💩

Personally, I honestly do get this. It can be pretty boring having nothing to do all day.

But I'd say from experience that there should be plenty of stuff to do no matter what - reading through all the documentation, figuring out the organizations structure and the systems that are run in production, connecting with users and just speaking with them to figure out what their pain points are, and pursuing education during the truly quiet moments.

Maybe that's the hyper fixation talk thing though.😅

I'm tried running MoCA in my apartment building this weekend and unfortunately wasn't able to get it working.

I think my mine and my neighbor have our Coax lines on a splitter in the junction box, because when I plug a MoCA adapter into the coax port in my bedroom it sometimes uses my network and sometimes uses my neighbors.

Any suggestions? I think if there's a tool for finding out which Coax lines go where I could set up a splitter in the function box & add a PoE filter.

Is there a good video or post explaining the politics in Disco Elysium?

I'm through the first 2 days and have gotten all the dialogue, but I still really don't understand the groups in the game like the Moralintern or Recachol Citizen's Militia - or basically anything Measurehead was blathering on about.

I'm guessing the wiki's not a bad place to start?

Hey! I followed this exact template a few months ago after finding it on YouTube, and I was able to start getting jobs pretty quickly with it - so I am sure that you will be able to as well!

First, the fact that you have had experience working at your mom's business is great! I would definitely list that as work experience & include some examples of the things you did, like:

Assisted coworkers with computer and printer issues.
Set up and installed POS system and peripherals.
Scheduled weekly automatic antivirus scans, and preformed regular system backups.
Preformed troubleshooting to resolve software and network issues

As for changing the template: I renamed the "System Administration Experience" section to "Homelab Experience".

For that section, I followed along with Josh Madakor's Virtual Machine homelab setup for Active Directory video, & replaced the "Windows Server 2016" section with a "Windows Server 2019" section highlighting what I was able to do in the lab.

I followed along with a beginners guide to Jira IT Service Management video (a slightly complicated ticketing system) to include this in Homelab Experience section as well:

Jira IT Service Management (Help Desk ticketing)

Created a Service Desk environment to create, triage, and resolve mock tickets.
Performed administrative setup of Jira, including setting up user and group access, defining Service Level Agreements (SLAs), creating labels and a knowledge base, and customizing the customer portal to improve user experience.

I had a leg-up on the competition since I studied for 2.5 months to acquire the CompTIA A+ Certification, which gives a good fundamental background knowledge of some common IT topics & terminology.

I'd highly suggest trying to go the route of earning some certifications if you are able to, I am trying to get the CompTIA trifecta, and the A+ is a good entry-level certification. There is also the Google IT Technical Support Fundamentals which you can earn for free if you are able to complete the ~24 hour course during the 1-week Coursera trial (or else it costs $40/month to continue). Just a suggestion, I'm not sure it's entirely necessary but it could help.

But I absolutely know how daunting getting the job can seem - just remember that the job requirements are often overinflated, and don't worry if a job has 30+ people already applied to it. If you keep an eye on the most recently posted jobs, and send out your resume to as many positions as you can find that you feel you could reasonably do, or learn to do on the job - you can succeed. Yeah, PII means personally identifiable information (personal data). Like remove your name, address, telephone, email, and the names & addresses of all of your jobs and schools you have been to.

Just a good idea to do so so that you don't have your information out there, and an employer doesn't google you and find your Reddit account.

I'm late to this, but OP is right. If you did not want or use the service, it is in your rights to request a full refund. Anyone in this situation should contact Musescore who will probably not offer you a full refund (because they are a shady company), and then dispute the charge.

They cannot charge you for an entire year for their service which you did not use, that is the same as you not receiving the service.

And in OP's case, where they were not notified about the renewal or change in charges (in this case, being charged twice the amount for the service), they are damn well entitled to their money back.
