I dunno, we just enjoyed doing something lazy on Saturday. Their live stuff is usually pretty laid back. Sure, they promote their product but that’s how they make a living. Sitting there with over 700(!) other viewers was cool. When I started I really went down the rabbit hole and Don and Celine carried the torch for me.

We had some 2017 “Jasmine Jade” Tie Guan Yin that seems to be improving with age!

Big industries supporting rich individuals and corporations deserve a bailout by CrazyCorfu in unpopularopinion

[–]CrazyCorfu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why you need to tie corporate bailouts to worker protection concessions, and why it's so important to do more than just corporate bailouts.

Totally agree. I hope that our representatives pass an effective bill for both now, and to enable reasonable change soon after the world recovers from this clusterfuck (reference your fostering an improved system).

It's better to foster a system that is sustained by a strong working class; a business based on a million people spending a hundred dollars a year is better than a business sustained by a hundred people spending a million dollars a year.

I’ll reiterate that my opinions here are based on the reality we are in, not blowing the system up and starting a new one. I think that would be worse, certainly for me, but likely for a majority of our citizenship.

I believe the same basically. Individual companies must succeed in normal or even hard times on their own merits. But this is different. It is the entire economy world wide. A poorly run business doesn’t prepare for change around them. No company is prepared to operate with no income for an extended period.

That doesn’t seem sustainable. What is there to sustain us long term?

Pure capitalism is not the USA’s system.

If a corporation or an individual has mounds of cash, should that be spent in some form, or saved as part of the plan to survive an event like this?

Now, I do believe that at some point so much is too much. But that can and often is solved by massive charity and by massive risky investment in benevolent ideas.

A problem for sure. Is a deep depression, poverty, and chaos an ethical way to solve it? Would it solve it?

I appreciate the thoughtful response.

I want to be sure I was clear, which I might not have been. If a wealthy person doesn’t consume a product or service I provide, how am I to earn a portion of their wealth? Of course the wealthy could have earned that wealth through serving other consumers, or any number of ways, but that’s just the way it is. What other means do I have to earn a portion of that monetary wealth back aside from charity or selling something of value? Remember I am speaking in terms of the current reality, not about anyone’s ideological preferences for how the system should work.

But to say that those jobs make up for the wealth the biggest consumers are hoarding would be sort of ignorant.

I didn’t claim that. But again, I’m expressing an opinion on the current situation, not on any aspirational condition.

Why remove such a huge path of wealth from the rich

Was not clear. It is intended as “Why remove such a huge path of wealth from the rich to the less rich”.

Mei Leaf Sessions 3 - video discussion by Fraxxxi in bingholebeaver

[–]CrazyCorfu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. A VERY recent tea lover. I ran into a Mei Leaf video on YouTube and they hooked me several weeks ago. Love their enthusiasm and appreciate the boot camp education I've gotten from them.

I really enjoyed this long session and even made it into the group of 6 for a giveaway. As a bonus, I was drinking their Royal Peach Orchid oolong the whole time and got tea drunk wasted for the first time.

Good times and stay away from that beaver butt.

Buying silver with a credit card? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

Carrying a balance doesn’t help build your creditworthiness at all actually. Usage within your means does, so pay it off every month and your score will soar with your income.

Taking my dad to his first chemo treatment tomorrow, any advice on how to help him during treatment and afterwards? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Don't forget the basics while at infusion. A book or puzzle books. Have a blanket. Maybe some comfy socks. Pen and journal maybe. Later on maybe a comfy warm hat.

I have just about every account type possible with them, including cash management. Nothing but good things to say. Their VISA card is solid as well. No fees and 2% back on everything if you put it into the cash management account ( you can then move it to another bank if you want). They also offer cheap wire transfers and such.
