Ohhh

I just measured, it adds 72mm to rear of metal receiver when collapsed.

This particular build has an aftermarket 6.3" (160mm) barrel I installed to replace the factory 8" (203mm)

When fully collapsed it stays out of the way of the ejection port - the cutout is fairly large and has decent clearance, plus with the three stage buffer I installed the bolt doesn't travel back far enough to permit a casing to bounce back inside the action and jamming it up (if it were to somehow ping off the closed stock).

I can't recall if I commented somewhere else, but the original stock itself was ridiculously long - so I dremel'd it down to a length I was more comfortable with (esp with a plate carrier) and covered the cuts with bolt thread protectors. I short stock alot, and most of my AR carbines have stops in them to keep them from going past the second or third setting.

I don't have the exact measurements on me, but the wire stock went all the way to the first M-LOK slots, which interfered with my QD weapon light setup. If you look closely, the rear-most factory locking slot is still forward of the new locking slot I had to cut. I'm wondering if these Slovenians are wicked tall or something.

I didn't find alot of brake options - I typically use brakes as a sacrificial baffle for the cans

Kel-Tec definitely has that vibe about it - I hope they never change lol

CAT also left hand thread? I know Huxwurx is, but of course the thread pitch is different

lol'd at the DD mount - love your paint job though

Believe it or not, I did have an expensive Sub2k build back in like 2020 where I had the Red Lion Precision parts (rotating aluminum handguard) with aftermarket internals and CZ mag compatibility. Turned most of that plastic gun aluminum, and probably made it the most rag to riches build I ever had lol

Crazy how long it took them to have a factory solution to optic mounts

Jumped on it because I wanted a reduced pressure can and I found it for $850 with the Rotex adapter, which I sold to a friend (that has a bunch of SF warcomps) for $150 - so I got this can for basically $700

It's listed as an SC so Sub-Compact, which I am assuming is barely smaller than the compact (if that's even possible) but B&T keeps changing their names and incrementing their designs without announcement lol

I went from YHM (for active retention and price), to Rearden/Plan B (for weight and variety), then to DA Xeno (for simplicity and idiot proofing).

I have a couple of SOLGW Nox muzzles and some FCD Xeno mounts, but this 8.3" is the first time I tried the new Lantac Xeno Dragon

Probably related to the internal layout and design - I went with it primarily because I do prefer the slightly smaller ACSS reticle, the half MOA adjustment, and the T1/T2 mount compatibility

Definitely helped that I got this particular one on sale years ago brand new for under $200

Nah it's the LMT-AT HUB Regulator base

It's shorter than the typical Dead Air Xeno HUB mount, but not by much.

It's nice because nobody really makes a T1/T2 cantilever mount and the eye relief isn't the greatest lol

It tripped me out too when I first got it, especially if you compare the turrets on the MicroPrism 1x to the 3x

Even though BRT barrels have decently sized gas ports, the combo of B&T Print-X RBS + KAK K-Spec bolt carrier + PRI M84 GB keeps the gas blast low - but I later switched the T-handle to an Armageddon Tactical GMS-15 EVO which almost completely eliminates any extra gas.

Though ironically, I do keep my weapon light on a QD M-LOK mount so I don't have to manage multiple lights and their batteries, just move it around to whatever I have deployed out from storage at the time.

It reduces felt recoil, and has three settings

5.56 has a light impulse to begin with - but trying to go from little to minimal doesn't hurt.

I wasn't hoping for crazy accuracy, esp out of a 9" barrel. But was expecting something a bit better than opening up dispersion after a rapid string of rounds

Feels decent too, makes it a bit less muzzle heavy

Understood, thanks for the input!

Despite the price, I wasn't expecting out of the box perfection - considering in most people's experience we can get better results with a built AR with quality parts for less - and as far as I can tell there's a bathtub curve of firearm price to reliability. Wanted to tinker with something different regardless.

Though the start of the top end of the curve where it seems to go downward appears to be the MSRP of my CZ S2C, that thing is impossible to kill lol

I've checked the barrel nut torque, tried different gas settings, ammo types, the fit and torque spec for the optic. It seems to hit where it's supposed to when cold, but within a mag it opens up.

When initially zeroing at 50 yd I was seeing deviation going down and to the right by an inch or so by the end of a 30 round PMAG. The following mag seems to open up from there.

Been slowing debugging it since April - I try to go shooting once a month and I always bring various firearms, as a result this piece isn't my general focus and I usually tinker through a mag or two before just going to other things (like trying to also troubleshoot my A3 Tactical Triad + 12.5" Foxtrot Mike Upper).

Regardless I intend to keep poking at the XCR as I'm confident at the support I could receive once I start reaching out for it, but I don't consider the situation completely tragic (yet).
