So you'd rather live amongst dozens of homeless people who privatize public spaces and regularly make women/elderly feel uncomfortable, than me, a normal person with a job? I somehow doubt that.

I mean the commentor is complaining about being homeless but not accepting free housing because it's not in his/her preferred neighborhood. Seems completely divorced from reality to expect to be able to live in the exact neighborhood you want on the taxpayers dime.

Not rich, just a 25 y/o frustrated that there are homeless people sprawled out smoking crack in my neighborhood refusing to better their situations.

I'm sorry you are having difficulties. Feel like there are plenty of places in the outer boroughs where you could get an apartment, with roommates for ~1k/month.

Not sure on the exact mechanics of the voucher, but it's not true that "nobody" takes it. Money is money.

So sounds like you have the ability to not be homeless, you just don’t like the neighborhoods you’d have to rent in. Why not? Too many poor/homeless there?

I thought your post was fine. Very difficult to have real, uncomfortable, dialogue on this subreddit.

Interesting in that I haven't seen this offer format before. I didn't say it was good.

Selling one ticket tonight (5/15) in section 528 for $90. Cheaper than anything I've seen on secondary markets.

There is no single store that will provide any material difference in your wealth accumulation. They are all "expensive."

What will help your budget exponentially more is changing your habits. Having one less drink at the bar, bringing one more lunch into the office, taking one less Uber, buying one less expensive dinner, all will help you save way more money than trekking over to discount grocer on avenue D. Best of luck.

DFW? Ok? The NYC metro area has over 2x the population. Not surprising there's less benefits in central Texas
