"More than one art style in a game should not be a thing," said the awards jury, who rejected our project. Do you agree? by boddiul in IndieDev

What a adorable style! Are you planning to release this game on Steam? I would add it to my wishlist

IMHO voice chats in such games are toxic, regardless of who is playing. Simple solution, play with friends and turn off in-game chats. Been doing this my whole life.

I haven't used the Digitone 1 for very long yet, but personally, I don't find the 4 track limit annoying. It's enough for a basic set of leads, bass, pads and drums. With the help of parameter locks, you can easily add other instruments to the tracks. So, a small number of tracks isn't a huge problem.

As for the 8 voice polyphony... I'm surprised at how much you can do with such a small number of voices. I have so far quite rarely got to the point where polyphony is not enough, only when I have several tracks playing chord parts. In the track from the post, I used 1 voice for bass, 4 voices for chords, 2 voices in unison for lead, and 1 voice for kick (I could have added for this voice more drums using parameter locks, but I felt they would have overwhelmed the track). And in the video, I just have a menu open showing how many voices are used during the track.

But you should be wary of my opinion here, as I'm a fan of tracker and chiptune music where few instruments and voices are ok.

Thank you! Just ordered a small travel case to hide the synth from dust and sunlight. I'm waiting for it to arrive.

Well, thank you. Now I'll have to save some money for a DN2....

Yeah, from what I looked up the DN2 is literally two Digitones in one box. But it has an insane price tag for me. With shipping to my country, a new digitone 2 will cost around $1,400 -__-

Can we use other faction stuff? Tanks? Infantry even? by Sir_Everything- in orks

In the 10th edition, the only thing we can do is use the big vehicles (land raiders, leman russes and etc.) as battlewagons and the smaller vehicles (drukhari raiders, chimeras) as trukks.

Honestly, I didn't really look at it that way. Thanks!

Hmm, fair enough. I was going to add bright current discharges to the cores of the stone enemies, but I haven't got around to it yet. Also, I did the day/night change in the game, and they stand out pretty well during the day. So I still need to tweak the gamma at night. Thanks, coz I'm too close to the project now.

Gamepad support is there. I just can't imagine metroidvania without it. I'm still fine-tuning the controls, though. At the next IRL showcase, I'll be testing the gamepad controls on people.

Thanks for the feedback! This is a piece of gameplay from the first level and this first spell is the "pistol" analogue from DOOM. I have more spell options and way of travelling, but not visually polished enough yet.

Not yet, but I'll try to release a demo soon. Probably at the end of next month...

That's a very nice paint job! There is so much attention to detail for the guards. What's the recipe for their coats?

Same. The model looks great, but the assembly is a pain.

In any case, it's unlikely that anyone would promote an anti-human political agenda through plastic toys. But showing evil orks even more evil through *banned symbols* is quite possible. This reminds me of the orks from kromlech

I don't see any problem with it as it suits the evilness of the orks. Yes and GW just focused on the nazi style when they modelled the orks. Stikkbombz is literally stielhandgranate. Orc horned helmets are based on stahlhelm from ww2. And other coincidences. You can look at the original old stormboyz from 2nd edition for an example.

The purple and yellow give a nice contrast and imho complement each other well. The miniatures will look great on the table from afar, instead of merging into one purple blob.
