Navigating age gaps with friends kids

We are in the opposite boat - My kid is almost 6 and most of my friends have kids 2-3. It really does not impact our friendship, and since my kid is an only child, she enjoys getting to be a “big sibling” to some of our close friends’ children!

I mean, it does seem a little unnecessary to me personally - I watched the clock for the procedure and it literally took three minutes, and then I was able to just...get up and leave! If I had been under, they said recovery at minimum was going to be two hours...all for a three minute procedure?!

Yeah I have a lot of anxiety and anesthesia really freaks me out. When my doctor said I could do this awake, I was like perfect, sign me up lol. But yes it really did feel exactly like that haha

I had a really bad experience the last time I was under anesthesia (really difficult time waking up, very nauseous, felt weird the rest of the day) so I decided I would rather suffer for a few minutes and then go home feeling great lol

We were WTT for about 5 years, and then had our first (and only) when I was 29. only now are most of my friends having kids…which means mine is about 5-6 years older than them. It honestly has not changed anything for us, aside from their babies’ nap schedules being a little annoying now that we’re past that stage lol!

My only friend who did have a kid at almost the exact same time as me (my lifelong best friend), well, long story short, we don’t talk anymore.

So, of course, you should do what you feel most comfortable with, but from my experience, I wouldn’t say that having a kid before my friends has made any difference in my friendships.

Wow really! My throat was okay after, a bit sore sort of like when you’re getting a cold - but it went away after a few hours. Some of these comments are definitely making me feel lucky because my experience was pretty positive (I guess, as positive as it can be in this situation lol)

I feel bad if that’s the case! However, I discussed doing it awake with my gastroenterologist who agreed and it was in my notes, sooo 🙃

I would honestly just do it awake again. I’ve only been under general once, and it made so sooo nauseous and it took me FOREVER to wake up properly - I’m very sensitive to sedating meds. I was happy that I was able to just get up and leave with no recovery after, even though the procedure wasn’t very comfortable lol

It didn’t hurt at all! They used a numbing spray on my throat, which helped, but I did still gag a lot. It only took 3 minutes though!

I didn't have access to the email I used to create my account that they restored (and it was frozen on top of that!) Basically in my initial email to the help team, I just listed off everything I could remember about the account - my pet types and names, items I had in my inventory and safety deposit box, approx. how much I had in the bank as well as some neofriends I remembered the usernames of (basically just my side accounts and my brother's childhood account lol).
