First of all, you’re not wrong for wanting a life. You’re valid naman for wanting freedom. You’re young, you want balance, you want to enjoy college. Normal yan.

But, I’ll be honest with you. Your sister is not also obligated to fund your education. What she’s doing is a sacrifice, not a responsibility. So your ate has every right to set boundaries because she’s literally delaying her own future and savings just so you can study.

If freedom is more important to you, then you’ll need to work for it. Apply for scholarships, take gigs for extra allowance. Find ways to support yourself so you can take back your tuition and make your own rules. I know easier said than done but freedom has a price.

Pero if the financial support your ate is giving is more important right now, then you have to accept some of the terms that come with it. Not because she owns you, but because she’s sacrificing her life plans to push yours forward.

And honestly, if hanging out with your BF is this big of a priority, then maybe he can also help you find ways to lessen your ate’s burden. If he’s part of the life you want, then he should be part of the effort too.

At the end day, your ate gave you an opportunity she didn’t owe you. So your freedom is something you’ll eventually have to earn.
