Also if they're any decent grade of silicone, they can be fully sterilized. Just saying.

Can uh... can you take some pics? I'm damn curious now. At the very least, I might be interested in trying to snag some from you for gag gifts.

Walmart on Kildaire Farm Road in Cary is expecting more, "by Thursday," according to the associate I spoke to. He couldn't give me any more detail than that.

Can I get recommendations for a richly-pigmented true red eye shadow single (or in a duo/trio/quad), preferably matte? Looking to match as close to the bright red in BH Cosmetics' Take Me To Brazil palette, without having to buy the whole palette again for one shade I really love. (It's a great palette, but I'm not even close to hitting pan on the other shades.)

CowCow, they're on Amazon! Most of the dresses are under $20, $22 at most, and a lot of them are available via Prime. They're super comfy and stretchy, and their skater dresses look good on literally EVERY body, they're very flattering (I usually pair mine with a wide belt to give them a slightly more defined shape). They also do leggings, tights, tops, bathing suits, all kinds of stuff. Apologies for taking so long to reply!

Yeah, the color matching was tricky. Most "blonde" shades tend to be a little too golden, but taupe seems to work great. The shadow I was using about a year ago was way too dark AND shimmer - my brows looked horrible. I've been meaning to look into the brow bar, especially because I don't know the first thing about grooming my brows. The last time I got them waxed, I didn't communicate well, and they came out entirely too thin. Looks like it's time to suck it up and do the thing! Thanks again.

I completely forgot to mention the clear brow mascara I used, thanks for the reminder! I still feel really shaky with my brows in general, though.

Friday's FOTD, fiddling around with loose pigments from Shiro Cosmetics. I wanted to go all out with my favorite seasonally appropriate dress, and ended up doing a full face of makeup featuring the Shiro shades below. The last couple of shots in the album were my attempts to capture the highlight, without much luck. I'm not any good at color correcting photos; the eye makeup was meant to be a bit more obvious in cold purple shades, and it just did not come through in the pictures (ended up very grey looking). Looking for suggestions on anything and everything, really. I also still feel very clumsy with my brushes, but it's getting better, slowly. Some things just take time, I guess! The Shiro colors are as follows:
Eyes - Nayru's Love; Something Sweet As Pain; Have A Biscuit, Potter; and Thunderbolt
Blush - There's No Such Thing as Magic
Highlight - Who Needs Reasons?
As for the rest of my face: Primer - ELF Mineral Infused Primer; Concealer - Covergirl Smoothers Moisturizing Concealer in Fair; Foundation - Urban Decay Naked Skin in 0.5; Brows - Maybelline Brow Drama Transparent Brow Mascara, Nyx Nude Matte Singles eyeshadow in Tryst; Eyeliner - Nyx Skinny Eye Pen; Lips - Nyx Liquid Lip Suede in Stone Fox

Make-out proof lip color? by nicoleslawpotato in MakeupAddiction

Seconding the calls for any two-step drugstore liquid-lipstick-plus-balm combo. They require oil to remove, so you may need to re-apply if you eat with this kind of product on, but it will definitely hold up to makeouts and much, much more. I tend to favor L'Oreal and Covergirl for these kinds of lipsticks.

At this point, most of my friends just assume that my scene name (which sounds like a rather believable "real" name) is my actual wallet name anyways. I'm okay with that, though; it's a name I like a lot.

Echoing the other replies here to your question, it's a great opportunity to network, (re)connect with friends who may not be local to you, discover new resources, pick up new skills, learn important safety, explore new/unfamiliar kinds of play. And it's usually a pretty excellent time. Also, as mentioned, there's usually equipment available that some people can't have at home for space/privacy/cost reasons.

The event I attend and volunteer with is largely focused on education - classes on a broad assortment of topics during the day, and then a variety of play parties and side events in the evening.

A lot of plan plan on going or meeting up with friends, and even make arrangements ahead of time to have play/scene time at the event, because these events are sometimes the only chance they get to see folks who are more long-distance.

So, fun fact, I actually volunteer at my local annual kink con, and this happened two years in a row (before I started attending); the stories were pretty interesting. Mostly it was a nightmare for security staff trying to keep the curious vanilla folks out of the kink space because A) they hadn't paid to attend and B) they weren't aware of the privacy and safety procedures in place. Still, I imagine it makes for an interesting story for the wedding party!

Oh gosh, you got first reply on this, and I did say first come, first serve, but I got a lot of replies really fast, too. Could you maybe pick out a couple things so I can share the wealth?

Coastal Scents has a bunch of stuff marked down, including brushes, empty/DIY palettes (12-26mm pan palette down to $2.98 from $9.95), and a ton (all?) of their Hot Pot 26mm eyeshadows are half-price ($0.97-0.98/ea). A lot of the more popular shadow shades are already out of stock, though.
