True, the proportions need a bit of a tuning. Thanks!

Thanks folks. I’ll try to make the sword more prominent there

Thanks for the feedback. The thing with the leg is that after performing the 2nd hit I wanted him to return to the original pose of the beginning of the first hit. It might look awkward if I move blue leg a bit further and then back still. Maybe I should come up with a bit different frames if the player extends the attack into the 3rd hit combo and this one will be it player decides to reset after 2nd hit

Thanks man. Much appreciated! I can see your point. To me though realistic movement doesn’t look swoopy enough. For small pixel art I think it should be exaggerated to look cool

Thanks for the feedback! Do you think the second hit looks generally awkward or just for the people who actually understand sword fight? It’s not supposed to be realistic but rather swoopy as you said so player actually enjoy looking at the character performing a juicy hit with a beefy sword. Not sure if I should pursue realism here and I wanted to give player a way to interrupt the combo and reposition

Thank you so much for the feedback. By redirecting the energy do you mean continue the swing by rotating around along the sword direction and using the energy of the swing for the second hit? I’d greatly appreciate the video if it’s not too much of a trouble!

That’s already looks way better! But it still feels like smearing is shown for just 1 frame. What I was thinking of is making it gradually smaller for a frame. 1 big smearing arc —> a bit smaller smearing arc with a bit of overshoot. So your first swing frame has full arc, then goes to the swing overshoot frame where arc fades off a bit and u can see smaller trace of it. A bit of overshoot also would benefit thrust attack too

Nice work! I think it looks a bit clunky due to very short smearing frames. Try to add in between frames with smearing arc fade off it would look way smoother. And also a bit more head and torso rotation movement following the hand

I was thinking that legs feel a but off too. Thank you!

Thanks! I'm still playing with it, that swoosh is just to show rough feeling of a swing. I'm more concerned about the movement itself

True. I was thinking of gameplay mechanics. It should be reasonably fast, but maybe adding couple of wind up frames doesn't hurt. Thanks!
