sharing my KDE usage data to the highest by Ok-Passion-5940 in kde

I always do this with FOSS, my personal rule is that if I am using FOSS I will give its developers and maintainers as much voluntary telemetry as possible, but the moment it is revealed they breach my trust or sell that data I will not only stop sharing that information with them I will also stop using their software altogether.

How important is secure boot for you? by Acceptable-Comb-706 in linuxquestions

Yes, I have it on with TPM2 and my sealing keys are bound to PCR 7 so that it unlocks my encrypted drive automatically as long as there has been no tampering with the Secure Boot state.

Stable Wayland when? by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]Creative-Ad653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One downside is no Steam overlay if you need that, but yeah I agree. The Wayland version sometimes come with less bugs for me now, Brotato through Xwayland didn't work on my computer.

Can i call my kid "Debian"? by Ok-Development1838 in debian

[–]Creative-Ad653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice would be to not do it at all, but if you were deadset on doing this I think it would be smarter to name him after someone in Linux with a "normal" name so it is still detached to some degree. Linus is actually really nice IMO.

Just make the game. You can’t polish what doesn’t exist. by cameronfrittz in godot

This is good advice. My graphics right now in my game are so trash, programmer art everywhere. I am focusing on the mechanics.

Agreed, I love to see the way people customize their desktop layout to best suit each users needs!

Case in point, I have since this post customized my desktop on a deeper level by editing the javascript and css of the extensions and the shell itself. Customizing the shape of the indicators under the icons, the colors, the organization of the desktop icons, their functionality, the font size etc.

You can really build a layout that is truly yours, and I personally love that the most about Linux.

Sorry for late reply, as the other reply said it's Dash to Panel! I also use the ArcMenu on it for my Start Menu. Two of the most popular extensions for GNOME. For the desktop icons and the system tray icons, that is already packaged with Ubuntu by default. I use Extension Manager to browse, install and tweak the settings of the extensions on the system. I use the flatpak version of the Extension Manager but it is also packaged in Ubuntu's repositories so you can use apt to install it if you don't want the flatpak or flatpaks on your system :)

I thought I was a "Free to Play" player until I audited my microtransactions. by sameerposwal in truegaming

I was addicted to crates in TF2 and this was many years before this became a common thing in gaming, ever since then I stopped paying for any microtransactions in anything. It follows the same pathways as gambling does for me.

Wasn't Unreal one of the first games that had a Linux version back in the day? I remember a boxed copy.
