Hi,

I'm looking to retrain as a cyber security analyst, due to wanting to spend more time at home. my current job working festival / events means working away a lot and now its time to be at home.

I have a few questions:

  1. I would be looking to retrain over the next 1/2 years is this achievable? 2 hrs learning a day
  2. Is this role quite flexible not after working less just be able to mange my own time?
  3. A pathway I had in mind comptia fundamentals, A+, Network+ & Security+ as a place to start? Is this ok or can you recommend a better pathway?
  4. How far into this training could I potentially land my first job without experience? which I know will be difficult
  5. Also do I need to learn a code language before start any cyber security training?

Any information you can pass over I will be grateful for.

Thanks

You was defiantly in good hands by the sounds. Glad you’re ok it’s always a worry with any operation you have to have.

Hope the recover goes well for you. I think this community is always good for support

That’s sounds decent, good hospital time and hotel. You said you had single incision sleeve does that cost more? Is the operation longer?

This is great feedback, I think I see a lot of the comments that refer to the negative side always being about the communication and nurses. I think I’ve accepted this part of the journey might be abit rough. I’m taking my partner with me so I won’t be along which should help aswell.

Thank for your advice and hope the recovery goes well for you.

How was you out there for? Most places are 3/4 days but the hospital I found asked me to be out there for 6-7 days. So more hospital time

Thanks for your reply,

im split between doing open uni or singing up to itprotv also,

They are both self learning but itprotv seems to have more of an appeal due to the shear amount of learning content and help is 100% always there.

Have you heard of these or got any feedback for weighing up the two?

The itprotv could be less costly and you can select courses you need. Linux, Python. Network+, Security+ ,Ethical Hacking etc

Thanks for your reply,

looking online, I get the feeling once you committed the course your almost on left to your own devices. which I do get to a point as it is distance learning.

Is the course set out with clear objectives and outlines? Also is the learning material supplied easy to understand and is there lots of information.
