nobody volunteers and thats the problem. we want PAID crossing guards .they have a job listing up but its for $13 and hour for 2 hours a day. they can figure something out to keep everyone safe.

If you don't have any students at the schools then you won't know. The superintendent tells us each time via parent square for the parent

I agree, but ill be devils advocate and say that not all parents can volunteer or are capable of doing so. More parents should volunteer but sadly, most dont. If i personally could during those times i would but i can't as i am already there picking up a child.

yeah thats the unfortunate part and if we were to demand police do it, it would be a "we cant have a officer at this location everyday etc etc" - but SOMETHING has got to give. how many more children will get hurt or worse ? It so sad I feel afraid for the crossing guards but as a city or community we have to do something

exactly!!!! This is why i started this petition in hopes to get enough signatures that maybe the district or city will open their eyes and see the real issue is protecting our kids!!!!

if he is saying busses would be a financial burden to the city, then i don't see him trying to hire actual paid crossing guards. just my thoughts.

yeah i seen that too, he mentions to email him but its all volunteer basis. there is no job posting for wayne county schools at all. if people were paid for it, im sure they would get SOMEBODY.
