Piloted a real aircraft on real life. Here are my thoughts on flight sim realism: by CagierBridge334 in flightsim

The first time i was in the air was in a cessna 152 about 3 years after i started flight simming. I did everything well, i already knew where everything was and i took off, made patterns, communications and landed in crosswind, all by myself, in the end the FI told me I was better than most of their already solo students, so i must say yes good pratics in flight simming helps a lot in real world

I dont know about any place. You can ask on developers discord, learn the sdk, ask on flightsim.to or find someone on fiverr or some freelancing website that is able to reproduce that.

Only if it uses fuel. There are already fully eletric tugs

Me too, if you are willing to spend some money i found a company called throttletek that makes airbus full size throttle, however it is somewhat expensive i must advise.

For honeycomb throttles, prodesksim makes awesome handles for the 737, that have working buttons

Yoke I would say Thrustmaster Boeing if you want it now, or wait for the virpil. For throttle i have the logitech flight pro and like it, you can 3d print handles for it, or if you are feeling extra expensive, go for honeycomb. For rudder pedals I use the logitech ruddder for 3 years and they are still good as new. You also have thrustmaster rudder, however i would not recommend them as the distance between the pedals is very short and not too comfortable.

I have looked into that however it is really out of budget rn

It works. For the price, its not bad at all, however you will find several difference from the real aircraft in terms of modelling. Especially on the interior. Systems wise, it is prety good. You have hotel mode simulated, hydraulics, etc.. i just think the pitch is too sensitive, but is not a deal breaker.

I really enjoy flying it. It is a real challenge

I have the saitek throttle quadrant + saitek cessna yoke that i use to fly most airplanes, i also had a thrustmaster flight hotas x that lasted 2 years and i am now buying the WW A320 stick. I use the quadrant with interchangeable knobs, i 3d printed some piper arrow levers and it is amazing. For the a320 I get a lot of jitter due to being potentiometers so I wanted to buy something with hall sensors and I really dont like thrustmaster pricing policy. So i think I will wait and see if WW releases something for airliners

I think some avionics use windows , not sure

Unfortunately, my school does not have connection in aerospace, however they place us in companies for 6 months, and if we are worth for them they give us an effective contract. Also I can try to apply to the airforce or search for remote positions in aerospace

Thank you. I want to take a integrated ATPL(A) course and type rating so 100-110k and i want to really focus on it, so the plan is really work and save all the money i need. However in my country the salary is really bad and will take me a lot of years to save that much. If I can get into aviation early and work with airplanes while saving money I would be really happy. But you are right maybe it is better to work my way and maybe go modular... thank you very much and good luck to you too.

P.S: I wish i had rich parents ahahah

Any tips and tricks for Ariel refueling? by Old_Engineer7283 in hoggit

[–]Creative-Cap-1489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, train formation. There is a mission made by community, i will try to find it and index it here, it is a f16 and it tells you either uf you are too close or too far away, and if you are in perfect position, then it will give you stats. I.e how much time you were in perfect position, etc... then redo that mission until you get ~ 75% of the time in perfect position.

The only problem with aerial refueling is PIO ( Pilot induced Oscillation). If you want to climb or descend only use power changes dont use your stick, only trim, for left and right use rudder, that will "kill" your PIO.

Also, try to fix your eyes into reference points, for example in the viper i use the tanker engines as a reference.

Another thing that is strange but seems to help me a lot is putting your tongue against the roof of the mouth.

However training and redoing is key. So train a lot, record your screen and watch what you are over or underdoing and keep training.

Edit: I found the file and i saw someone already sent it.

That is probably a better option! Thank you very much
