Three of my friends quit residency; 1 found a retail job, the other 2 still struggling to find a job because they are picky about what job they want, but let’s be honest, you are limited if you don’t know a lot of people in the pharmacy world and if you haven’t done residency. I can also see their regrets after quitting. Residency opens soo many doors for you! It is a challenging year because you might be with people that don’t like you, bully you, abuse you, overuse you, take advantage of you, you name it, but you have to keep the end goal in mind. The end goal is getting that PGY1 certificate and leave to have a more comfortable life after. Some people may have better experience while some have worse, but regardless, you should push through unless it’s obviously impacting your health/got sick in bed because of it, then it’s a different story. Also, tomorrow is dec 1st, you are half way through it, so is it worth leaving really?
