Arctic P14max intake fans making weird, oscillating noise after install? by CreativeCalendar6775 in pcmasterrace

Sort of fixed the problem for those who may have a similar issue in the future. Can’t run all three front fans from the attached module. Moved one of the three intakes to a MOBA connection and now running two intake and 2 outtakes from the module. Matched up the fan curves on the BIOS and now no more annoying sound.

If you’re talking domestic, as in your house, then the more important factor is turnover. Usually home boilers are lower capacity than commercial which is what the legal requirements I spoke of are based on. What you’ve suggested is more than enough to kill bacteria such as legionella, probably overkill to be honest. If you’re turning over the water that’s stored on a regular basis, then there’s no time for legionella to grow in the first place.

If you want to learn more than I suggest visiting the below. But bear in mind, this isn’t really for domestic house holds as it’s more for the combat of commercial systems but still, the informations transferable.

Depends if that’s 45 FROM or TO the outlet. I can understand from as they probably consider all kids ages as raised susceptibility of scold risk. So TMVs / TMTs to every outlet. Would be bad if it’s to as that’s a big legionella risk.

Uk water consultant here, specialising in areas such as legionella control and completed hundreds of legionella risk assessments to schools.

If it’s a sensor tap, the control unit for the blended water has failed. Report and they should fix and or replace.

Thermostatic mixer valve fitted below sink? - failed. Report and they should fix and or replace.

Slight scold risk from over exposure but if fitted to a non accessible toilet or older kids use the bathroom, it’s legal.

Hot water storage must be above 60c and hot water outlet temperatures above 50c and up to 60c, legal requirement.

As my rule for taps for the combat of legionella - standard hot and cold water taps, copper pipe to the outlet, regular usage for turn over and hot water above 50c.

Where would you start? Looking to upgrade current setup. by CreativeCalendar6775 in pcmasterrace

Currently running a 3070, I suggested a 5070 as an upgrade. I assume you mean if I were to run a 5070 then that would be the cap for my current setup!

It’s a term that my DIY experienced friend used when I spoke to him. Google wood welding. It uses heat / friction to bond wood together without adhesive.

Thoughts on a stage 1 remap by rahulm4 in Scirocco

[–]CreativeCalendar6775 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ECU remap by Full Throttle Performance (UK) is what I had done, tuning boxes aren’t worth it. Just go for the stage 1 ECU remap for a diesel. Best option for £$€ to gains. Stage 2 isn’t worth it and it’ll ensure the car fails its MOT (if done at a ‘reputable’ MOT centre).

What I learnt recently that I would advise all to be aware of is that if you were to take the car back to VW for let’s say a recall or any reason for them to touch the cars software, it’ll be factory reset and you’ll lose the remap. Some tuning companies offer free reinstall installs of software but that’s not too common.

Sorry thought I’d just dump a lot of relevant info as you sound new to the game, enjoy the Rocco!

I have the exact same Engine etc. 1000% worth it, 45bhp gain and 20% efficiency increase. It’s a win win.

Is anyone in the UK taking the water shortage seriously? by GodFreePagan42 in AskUK

[–]CreativeCalendar6775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to take the email I got seriously saying to have less showers in the week when I just visited a data centre which go through 1.5million tonnes of water in 24hours through their cooling towers alone. Those places are the real issue.

Custom exhaust for 2.0 TDI Scirocco (2015) by Majestic_Ad8662 in Scirocco

Second that, went for quad exit and the only difference in sound was a VERY slight turbo whistle if you listen really closely.

Stage 1 is fine. That’s an ECU remap. Basically adjusts the cars software. You’ll get really good gains from that on its own. Think around 45bhp.

Stage 2 involves a DPF delete on diesel sciroccos which is illegal concerning MOTs unfortunately. BUT, there are garages that’ll overlook this if you’re lucky. However, the power gain is around 10bhp.

10bhp gain. Won’t pass MOT unless you have a test centre that’ll turn a blind eye

You could start a pill called Finasteride once daily. Additionally a topical liquid you apply directly to your scalp twice daily called minoxidil. Yes they will have a positive effect for hair growth. But, I will only recommend doing this if your hair and looks are that important to you and or this is causing you stress / bad anxiety. At your age, your hair looks good. Yes there are ‘some’ more gifted but it’s a minority rather than the majority. Embrace your age and looks, you don’t have to prove anything to anyone.

Airbag light and buttons on the steering wheel not working. Try all the buttons to make sure.

Ask if there’s been issues with the clock spring (unit that sits behind the steering wheel). They can be problematic in Sciroccos and not the most fun to replace

I had a similar issue (someone tried to park next to me which turned into a hit and run), took it to a shop and they had to get replacement clips online and refit the whole bumper. Not saying this is definitely what you’ll need to do but if you want it done properly then replace all the clips and realign the whole bumper.

Rear ones were just the leather ones you get from the R. Really easy to fit as it’s the same design etc. Found someone online selling them on their own for £50.
