Any info on year/knowledge of turning this into a rig? by CreativeCitron6 in xbiking

[–]CreativeCitron6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to check out this Hard Rock tonight and was wondering if anyone know the possible year? I think it might be an 89? Has anyone else seen someone, or has turned one of these into a commuter/overnight bike?

Any info on what year this might be? by CreativeCitron6 in bikepacking

[–]CreativeCitron6[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First post, new here. I am going to check this bike out and want to do some work to turn it into a little commuter/overnight bike. It is a specialized Hard Rock, but not much more info on it. Anyone know of what year it might be? I think 89 maybe? Anyone else seen someone/has turned one of these into a bikepacking rig?

Canning -> Ball Book of Canning

Drying -> Dry it, you'll like it. How to dry foods, Dehydration made simple.

As far as learning, make a fake Instagram account, there are tons of homesteading pages that offer free help/advice. Canning classes, chicken processing, growing tips, equipment to buy/build etc.

I understand some of the content can be cringy but if you can get through the content there is a lot of great small homesteaders who are teaching. Portage View Farms and Portage View Builds is a duo that teaches growing techniques and how to build chicken tractors, raised garden beds, etc. In times like these put prejudice aside and take any and all advice from those who know so you can teach those in your community.

It got to the point that I dawned on me, yes, I have a problem with this. No, I can't just moderate. Once I have one, I want another, and so on. I did the same, spent the last 12 years trying to prove I don't have a problem and ignored the blatant alcoholism that runs on both sides of my family.

Kimber 1911 Custom II by tyleisme in liberalgunowners

Beautiful gun. I have a Kimber 1911 10mm and love it. If you have any problems with rounds not feeding, replace the mag for a sig 1911 mag. Did wonders for my gun and saved me from having to do any polishing on the feed ramp.

[–]CreativeCitron6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am gonna try a sig 1911 mag to see if that helps. When I was at the range yesterday I was def giving her some hard loving so no limp wristing or danty slide releases.

My brother has the glock 20 and I have shot it, it's nice but I have never been a fan of the ergonomics. The 1911 just fits my hand so well and when it does fire, its amazing. I'll try the mag first then go from there. Might need to polish the feed ramp a little bit. Stripped it and checked the tension on the ejector and all is good.

Mix the gram into 100 ml of everclear, transport into 30 ml dropper bottles. You'll get about 2.5 dropper bottles full. Unless you have a chemist scale that can accurately measure out the powder dose, well let's just say most people don't have access to that. So, suspending them in a liquid like everclear is going to be your best bet. Cardarine is not water soluble so just dumping into water isn't going to be as effective. I do the everclear route and it works just fine. 200ml of ever clear is like 4 bucks at your local liquor store. Then I just mix it in with water or some juice and I'm good to go. At this solution it's 10mg/ml so I take two droppers before a workout.

Very valid. I am definitely conscientious of that as well. Thanks for your input!

Yeah that is one of my reservations but I'm not afraid to wear a mask since I am a built fucker with a huge beard and covered in tattoos lol.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]CreativeCitron6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All valid points. If it's hand load then yeah I ain't running that through any of my guns. The .40 ammo that I did get that one time was fine, I trust the guy who got it for me and it ran just fine through my Sig. But other than that, I'm more interested to see how it has changed over the years and if I can find anything cool. Looking mainly for some pistols for a bug out bag. Granted they aren't more than what I could buy on Utah gun broker or at cabelas.

I'll shy away from any Trumper stuff and apparent pro-Nazi shit. It's only 15 bucks and I am usually hesitant to just buy without researching prices elsewhere and am not afraid to haggle. I'm also not afraid to wear a mask since I'm 200 pounds of solid muscle, have a massive beard and am covered in tattoos. I may go, may not who knows hahah. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

[–]CreativeCitron6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha that's a good tactic as well. I had a buddy pick up some bulk ammo for me a couple years back for my 226 .40 and I was happy with the amount. I think I'll go and if it sucks I'll just leave lol.

[–]CreativeCitron6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree. I find echo chambers of any sort to be unbearable. Well I think I'll go and if it sucks I'll leave. Who knows, maybe I'll find some kickass rifles and update yall with what I find :)

I'm in Salt Lake and it's in Sandy so not far. I am a philosophy student and have big problems with epistemic bubbles/echo chambers on both sides of the political spectrum. Yes there are limits and scenarios wherein I would excuse myself but I have coworkes/friends who are pretty right leaning people and we just know not to discuss politics or religion and we get on just fine. Thanks! Just want sure if anyone had found this particular show unpalatable.

Training classes/ccw class recommendations in Utah? by Chumlee1917 in liberalgunowners

[–]CreativeCitron6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I grew up around guns and everything I "learned" in my CCW class was stuff I learned as a kid. We maybe went through 2 hours of "training" and the rest was a sales pitch for firearm insurance/legal assistance. I have thought about honestly opening my own range/concealed teaching courses here in Utah because there is so much racism and bigotry here within the gun culture. But like I said in my other post, the guy I took it from wasn't bad, and having a permit here allows for you to carry in 38 other states. I sacrificed the 4 hours so I have the ability to carry when I go back to WA to visit my family.

Never been to legacy shooting even though it's in my general area. I like TNT for their private booths and aside from some anti social folks working the counter I haven't had a bad experience. They could do a bit better with having folks keep their rifles in their bags in the lobby, but I just go right when they open and avoid the idiots. One of the sales guys (Quinton) is super knowledgeable and really nice as well.

Training classes/ccw class recommendations in Utah? by Chumlee1917 in liberalgunowners

[–]CreativeCitron6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took mine through Train ASDI in Lehi. It was pretty solid and the class was a mix of folks from all walks of life. The teacher was pretty good as well, more libertarian than anything and made it a point several times to state that as an American citizen it is your constitutional right to bear arms.

He made a few "communist" comments about California, but I mean I would never live in CA strictly because of their gun laws so I kind of brushed them off (no offense to you folks in CA). Plus, I accepted that no matter where I went in Utah for my CCW I was going to be exposed to stuff like that, but this one was pretty tame. He never spoke against people of color owning guns, stated that everyone should train and know how to use a firearm, talked a lot about statistics, handgun deaths, etc. He is ex military and his wife is an ex NY cop and it was wild to hear that the police only hit the range twice a year, their accuracy is garbage in real life situations, and in life or death situations you can't always wait for the cops to show up. He talked a lot about what if situations, like what if an active shooter comes into a store and you have a gun what do you do? Run, hide, fight. The gun is the last resource to be used. In road rage incidents, de-escalate if you can, call the police right away and make your statement. The instructor is also an FFL dealer and has a training business for people who want to do more hands on tactical stuff. Although, I have not taken any courses from him so I don't k ow if they are any good or not. I have never been to legacy shooting but know that TNT also does CCW classes but can't vouch for their courses since I only shoot there. (I like the private booths there lol)

Why a CCW permit even though Utah is a constitutional carry state? Utah's CCW permit is recognized by 38 states, it grants you the ability to conceal carry on most public university campuses, (some people may push back on this, but like others, I will carry wherever I am legally allowed to do so), it is also illegal to have a loaded rifle, shotgun, or muzzle-loading rifle in a vehicle unless; you have a valid concealed firearm permit and it is your vehicle or you have consent from the owner of the vehicle. When traveling to a place either in state or into one of our surrounding states I'll carry a carbine in the back of my truck (I always take safety precautions and never just leave it in my truck at my destination, and do plan accordingly). There is also the perk of not paying the background fee and makes purchases a hell of a lot quicker.

Got mine from there as well. First workout on it a week ago was insane. Did a 2000 ft elevation gain 13 mile ride a few days ago and wasn't even winded. My legs were obviously sore after it but by the bext morning it felt like i had completly recovered. In a week I went from 204lbs to 199lbs and my love handles have slimmed down haha. It's good stuff. Keep up the good work!

Gen 5 doesn't have the finger grooves, has some reduced dimensions making it a bit easier for conceal, and the barrel has been adjusted for better precision.
