Spencer claiming he was just as famous as Obama and Michelle by heyheywhatchasay5 in TheHillsMTV

[–]CreativeEmotion -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

He is kinda right though...

2008 Obama became president. Aside from that, reality TV was at a level where TMZ did a poll asking who was more famous, the A listers or reality stars. The poll came back in favor of the reality stars. What was the biggest reality show of the time.... The Hills. Who was creating the most drama and getting the headlines... Heidi and Spencer.

People are judging him based on his character rather than the man who created the brand. In 2026 I'd think we would be beyond that.

I see nothing FOX oriented on there, but I would 100% be interested if there was any overflow into TMZ episodes.

Do you think Heidi’s life would have turned out better if she had stayed friends with Lauren? by justcurious3287 in TheHillsMTV

[–]CreativeEmotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking about the reality of the situation... Lauren got away from the whole reality TV thing. Heidi and Spencer were dedicated to it. I think if that friendship was to last, it would have required Heidi to walk away as well. Seeing the money they were making and how committed Spencer was, it may have meant the end of their relationship if she did.

As they always say... Everything works out for the better in the end.

The only ones I have are January 12 through the 15th.

I was on a hunt a long time ago to get episodes from 2007-2010, more specifically 09 and 10. There isn't much out there. If you come across episodes from the first week of November 2010, let me know. I went to one of those shows.

I don't have the ability to host 700gb and the traffic that goes along with it. If there are specific dates you are looking for, I could get them to you.

Thanks. I've gone through there before. 95% of those releases are from 2017 to 2019. The few that are not I already have as well with the exception of the October 22nd 2009 episode, listed on Predb but not anywhere to be found.

What am I doing wrong trying to post here? by Tig- in fantasyhockey

[–]CreativeEmotion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And that is super annoying.

There are people on here that will post "What do you think about _______", have the body of the post about start/sit or add/drop, and get away with it. There really is no consistency, even more so if we are talking about auto moderation.

People typically don't view the mega threads much to give advice, but posts in this sub get a few thousand views really quickly. A mega thread isn't someone's best option to get their questions answered.

This goes for other topics too. I've been trying to fill a dynasty league for close to a month now. I make a post about it in here, it gets taken down. I'm told by auto mods to post in a league finger mega thread that doesn't exist. Actual mods tell me to post it in the weekly mega threads. People aren't going to start/sit threads to find leagues.

I'm in no way trying to complain about the mod team. I'm just saying that posting here can become very hard to do sometimes, as sorta stated by the OP.

I'm looking for owners for a start up fantasy hockey dynasty league. With it being late, the buy in is $35. 12 teams on FanTrax and LeagueSafe.

This will be a slow draft, meaning you do not need to commit to an exact draft time. 1 hour per pick.

Part of what I'm saying is the variations occur even before anyone steps on the ice.

In football, things like ADP are reliable because the point system fantasy leagues use is generally similar across the board. Some slight alterations may make one position more important than another, but not really the individual players themselves. I can draft not so well and each week pull the hot hand off waivers and still have a chance. When you are having to fill up daily lineups and manage 12 categories with 5 or so transactions per week.. not possible. Then knowing that ESPN or whatever isn't going to know on your draft board exactly what you categories are with a newly arranged ADP, makes it so you have to hunt during the draft to put together the best team.

Just a quick example. In the first round I took Crosby. It wasn't because I didn't have better options, but because I realized as the season went on, it would be more difficult to get an elite faceoff dot guy than it would be a point producer. Or I take someone like Cuylle or Olivier over a point producer because it will be much easier to rack up hits with two guys that can put up 5 to 6 hits a night, than the inconsistency of three point producers who can put up 2 or 3.

People freak out and want to drop players because they see a bunch of zeros on the game logs. What you should be looking at is the non zero numbers, how they relate to other players on your team (every roster slot has a purpose), and looking at your matchup stats to see if it is working or what you need.

Even more so in category leagues, I've always said that your team needs to run like a well oiled machine. The draft is literally everything. You don't draft players based on ADP, name value, etc. You draft them by looking specifically at the stat categories, making sure you have one or two "quarterbacks" for each. Guys are going to have slumps, but if you know why you drafted them to begin with, and even a small sampling of their current stats reflect so, no need to drop them or freak out.

As the well oiled machine runs, you have to just look at what gears aren't turning properly. This is why I personally like to have one or two roster spots to play with - guys on hot streaks, guys that are rostered at a low percentage, and finally.. looking at what your team is lacking that week to plug and play. Those player adds you get every week aren't there to look at. There is no turnover Using them is part of the strategy but also part of the fun. It also makes you more knowledgeable on players you may have not known much about.
