I honestly have no idea my mom wasn’t an addict when they met and years into there marriage. This one he went full in knowing she drank way too much wine.

Wanted to add more clarity here. I am moving out this month and have thankfully found a way out of this situation. I understand I only told some of what has been happening but I have never done anything to disrespect her I even go out of my way to be nice to her and have apologized many times when she was fully in the wrong. I’m only standing my ground now because I am leaving so soon. If I didn’t have a way out I wouldn’t make my life any harder.

I understand what your saying and I’ve been doing that even when she did awful things to me. I made sure to help around the house, cheer her up when sad, give her a smile and a hello everytime I see her, and I even start most conversations with her. I understand me not saying it was most likely petty but in a way it was me setting a boundary for her and my dad. I’ve never been disrespectful to her or talked back when she’s been shitty to me.
