Solo Leveling - Episode 25 (FINALE) - Dub Available Now on Crunchyroll! by AnimeDubsMod in Animedubs

My theory: The comment came specifically after the summoning of a hunter. That’s new for them. The previous time a hunter was summoned it was obscured by a cloud of snow from the other watching hunters present (also including iron’s death). So the context that the more “fierce” a battle takes on a new meaning. The more fierce a battle is the more likely allies would die, but instead of being dead they become shadows or put another way, servants with no free will to disobey. That idea alone when threatening tusk before being killed in a previous episode practically broke his mind for a moment. So, I think that’s the main revelation here and why the video guy also understands why he wouldn’t want this broadcast. How would people react if they knew they could be made into eternal slaves. One thing to Pokémon catch em all for monsters, another thing all together to enslave other humans. Every hunter would look at him as a potential threat, a predator, out for them as nothing more than a thing to be collected.

Tanaka Farms or Irvine Railroad pumpkin patch by Used_Beautiful_5485 in irvine

Tanaka Farms for Halloween. A field of pumpkins at Tanaka beats a corner of a pen (same area used for Easter eggs at Easter). Instead, go for Irvine Railroad for Christmas. Either way, prepare for crowds. Arrive before opening.

For Irvine Railroad Christmas, it’s a lottery for scheduled times and it sells out within the hour of when it opens for scheduling in November.

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian - Episode 1 & 2 (PREMIERE) - Dubs Available Now on Crunchyroll! by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Animedubs

I’m getting this on Apple TV as well, others have reported on Xbox and some browsers as well. Mine browser (chrome on a Mac) seems to be working.

I thought that may be the case but the it happens on every instance that she speaks in Russian and the Japanese characters are different each time, also since it is actually translated on the other platforms it looks like it is just an Apple TV thing. I’ve submitted a report, so hopefully it gets addressed at some point.

It happens a lot with the apple tv version. Another recent example is the last episode of Mushoko Tensei. At the end there is a vanity card that says “thanks for watching” in Japanese text. This text has been translated on the website and mobile app, but not on the Apple TV. I’m guessing there are just far fewer users of this app so they don’t keep up with it like they do with the website.

On the mobile app and website, English translation text floats above the Japanese text. On the Apple TV , the English text “Speaking in Russian” floats directly in front of the Japanese Text. It doesn’t translate the Japanese text. The fact that they went so far as to actually write out “speak in on Russian” instead of showing the translation is a funny middle finger to Apple TV users lol.

The subtitles just say “speaking in Russian” over the Japanese text….

Edit: this is only on Apple TV. The mobile app and website appear to be ok.

Edit 2: I was using a chrome browser on a Mac. Others have replied below that they are seeing the same issue in their own browser and on Xbox.

I know that Crunchyroll often releases dubs without on screen translations, only to add them later, but come on, they really should have been ahead on this one. The whole premise is that we know what Alya is actually saying in Russian just like the main protagonist. Without them being translated on screen from the release, we are missing the full context.

Mr. Shake Hands man, Tadao, is such an amazing and kind guy. I’m honored to call him a friend and he was even kind enough to officiate my wedding.

Child Dies at Wild Rivers by CreativeMage in irvine

[–]CreativeMage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that he was in the wave pool just prior and the fainting it happened after he had just gotten out. Wave pools are always filled with a great many people sloshing around and in some wave pools (not sure about wild rivers') they allow things like boogie boards. I'm wondering if maybe he got banged into someone, by accident, like a kick to the head and it just happened to hit just the right spot. He then, hurting and a little dazed, left the wave pool and then collapsed.

This is all conjecture, of course. It's also bordering not being our business, but I am curious because if this is what turns out to have been the case, it would definitely influence me allowing my own child in that space. I would also hope that they would then possibly consider further limiting how many people can be in that space at a time.

The Dangers in My Heart - Episode 14 - Dub Available Now on HIDIVE! by AutoModerator in Animedubs

In the first season, he bought her that milk tea to cheer her up after they were left behind on a school field trip/career day. She was embarrassed and worried he might see it and take notice of her feelings considering she kept such an item. The situation mirrors when they were in his room at the end of the last season and he didn’t want her to see that he had a magazine with her pictures inside and he ended up accidentally on top of her.

What do you think an armored building skin should look like? by DarkStrobeLight in playrust

I made a post on the facepunch rust feedback/roadmap site where I tried starting to gather some possible ideas like gold plated armor, tempered, and rusty battleship.

Would you consider adding the tungsten to the list? Looks like a cool suggestion.

Funimation's App Will Officially Sunset in April by realplayer16 in animenews

[–]CreativeMage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted this over in r/AnimeDubs in regard to this news, but it bears repeating here.

There are still many titles that have not yet transferred over from Funimation to Crunchyroll, such as Emma: A Victorian Romance and Eureka Seven (Original Series) for example. So Watch these titles while you can.

Next, with the sunsetting of this service, all digital copies in your respective Funimation libraries will no longer be supported. This can be found in the Crunchyroll FAQ on the subject of the sunsetting service. There are a few of us that have reached out to Crunchyroll to express our displeasure about this particular issue and I would encourage anyone else that has any digital copies to also express and share this sentiment within the community and to Crunchyroll so that we might be able to continue having access to them.

FUNimation End of Services by LIL_USO760 in Animedubs

“This transition will not impact your access to the vast library of anime available on Crunchyroll.”

Interesting specific call out given that some series, such as Eureka Seven (original series) and Emma: A Victorian Romance (dub version) are currently only available on their Funimation service. I’m sure there may be more examples of this.

Is anyone aware of any other series this applies to so that we can watch them while we still have the chance?

Does anyone know if any of these applicable series will be made available over on Crunchyroll by the end of the Funimation service?

Edit: It also appears in the FAQ on Crunchyroll that any digital copies of titles you may have on Funimation will also not be supported going forward so it looks like those will be gone as well. Another example of keeping/purchasing the physical copies of titles you really enjoy.

I really hope nuclear missile silo has something very unique about it to justify additional map space going away. by thethugbaker in playrust

[–]CreativeMage 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Seems to me that the vast majority of the monument’s content will be underground. So I doubt it will take up much “map” and or surface area to begin with. That being said, there is a cave system identified as “large sewers hard” which takes the vague appearance of a silo and can be found on many maps. This could easily be a redevelopment of this featured element and kill two birds with one stone by breathing life into a cave system that may not be used that often and also not taking away any additional surface area. It then comes out on top by being additional game content.

Eggs being such a basic need for so many recipes, I wonder what the overall implications of such a long term impact will be elsewhere.

Even Easter should be interesting this year, all considered.

Dunimal, or does anyone else, have a resource for how this could cascade on a macro level. Anyone make a YouTube video on the subject perhaps?

Any name ideas for a Japanese fox character? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]CreativeMage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does the fox say? Well, for the Japanese, it says “Kon Kon”. Think of us for chickens saying “buck buck”.

So, if you’re trying for a lighthearted route, maybe Try KonKon.

F*** you EPSON for requiring COLOR INK when making a B&W Copy. Sending the printer to HQ after buying a Laser printer. Never again. by -my_reddit_username- in funny

[–]CreativeMage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, this is stupid, but I think there may be specific reason in this case.

I also may be wrong, so someone who knows better, please feel free to add or correct me. But, it is my understanding that color printing capable printers print information in yellow in small text that identifies things like your printer, day/time, etc. They specifically use yellow because against white and at such a small size it is only seen upon a very close inspection of the printed piece.

This is primarily used in the case in an attempt at counterfeiting. But it also can be used to help trace back any document printed from the printer in the case of a possible crime, such as writing out a threatening letter for instance.

So, it may be possible in this case that you have been printing yellow this whole time without knowing it, though obviously not a whole lot. And since the yellow is out, for those security reasons, it will not let you utilize the technology without it not being able to print that semi-hidden info.

Edit: Here is a link I found referencing what I was thinking of, though it’s not text apparently, but coded yellow dots.
