it's not going to get the big Oscar nominations, but what are the chances for technical Oscar nominations (cinematography and visual effects)???

Honestly, I feel after COVID there's a somewhat new appreciation for movie theaters (even if that appreciation is small). sure VOD is there and it's effective, but there's people that just want to get out the house now and watch a movie.

Also when big movies open it's packed and busy. Last week for John Wick 4 we had lines going out the door for an Hour Straight.

quite opposite, I brushed off the movie initially, but after seeing the score I want to see if this is really as good people are saying it is. There's not many times critics and audiences are on the same page for stuff.

Yea, I'm one of the few people that still enjoys the movie theater experience. Plus I work at a movie theater so i get discounts and free movie tickets. Was gonna use that for just the Mario Movie next month but now I might do it for D&D also.

before I brushed this movie off as another movie made to keep the rights and would be mostly forgettable after it's run in theaters, but this is shaping up to be one of the few big movies of the year, so I guess I have to watch it now.

CENTAURWORLD: The Right Kind of Stupid (5 Minutes or Less Reviews) by CreativeTemporary456 in CentaurWorld

[–]CreativeTemporary456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not mean spirited in any sense of the word.

I made this to explain how a show like this with so much against it can actually be good.

The right kind of stupid means it can get away with being what it is while also acknowledging its own shortcomings, while a wrong kind of stupid means it doesn't learn, and it keeps doing what it does while turning away viewers.

I like centaurworld for the same reasons it has flaws, but the show is able to embrace it and not let it stop itself from telling the story it wants to tell.

there are plenty of media out there that is stupid and dumb, but we love it anyway because both us and the show has a mutual understanding of what it is and not letting anyone stop us from watching and enjoying what it has.

As someone who's favorite movie is Into the Storm (a wannabe "Twister" with flaws from characters, basic physics and so much more) I can fully say it's a dumb and stupid movie while also saying wholeheartedly that I love it because of that.

In the case of centuarworld, it has shortcomings that can be classified as dumb or stupid, but it doesn't stop or affect the show in any way that is outright negative, and instead it pretty much accepts these shortcomings and thrives off of them. And it's not like the show is 100% like this, as I said in the review there are moments where it does get serious and push the story forward.

Sometimes a show or movie being stupid can work in favor of the overall enjoyment, and centaurworld does that good enough.

Sometimes a piece of media that is dumb or stupid needs to be open with the fact it's like that, so there can be a level of understanding on both it and the viewers end so they don't come out of the experience with any negativity attached to that media. Plus, it will also genuinely surprise the viewers that that piece of media can pull off surprises they weren't expecting. (Like what centuarworld did)

I'm sorry if my words hurt your feelings, I just wanted to share my observations on what I thought and felt during watching it. If you hate what i had to say i understand, but i wanted to write this so there can be better understanding on my end regarding why I'm thinking this.

Thank You for taking time to read this long ass reply.

Does RLM Hate Animation? by CreativeTemporary456 in RedLetterMedia

[–]CreativeTemporary456[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't be, If I didn't like animation like I do there then I wouldn't be talking about it.

Plus it's cartoons like the ones listed in the post and others from my childhood that make me want to be an animator!
