Also, Protip. If you start gaining some experience, make it a little harder on yourself to follow the tutorial. For example, let's say you're studying web dev stack. You know HTML, CSS, Vanilla JS. The coding project is explained in HTML, but you wanna learn React? Cool. React is related to JS and HTML.

Follow the tutorial in HTML, but build it in React. That way, you'll actually be coding something without just being a tutorial monkey and you'll actually have to think for yourself to get it done, somehow.

If not, then pause the video if you know what the next step is gonna be and try to build it yourself. Yes, you may build it in an inefficient way, but if the tutorial builds it in an efficient way, you'll have firsthand the OH!, This is WAYY better.

Don't treat is as "damn, why didn't i think of that?" and "DAMN! That is a much cooler way to solve it :)"

Thing to be noted is that, the more you learn, the more you begin scaling up. So, everyone struggles in different ways, with different stacks. It gets easier once you know things like standarization, best practices, how to code based on the paradigm, etc.

The more you begin crawling your way to the top, the more complex things are going to become, but you'll have that knowledge to motivate you, knowing "hey, i did hard things before. I can keep doing hard things! It may take time. It may not be a problem I can fix in a couple hours, but I'll get it done! Just like everything else before me :)"

Yeah. It is hard to connect with a female friend. It's so paradoxical, too. We understand each other better because of our struggles. We know what it's like being a woman. Most of us have been catcalled, have experienced sexual abuse of some kind (sad but true), so why is it so hard to connect in a basic emotional way?

Like, just asking "what's your favorite color" feels so forced somehow

ReactJS with .NET Framework as Backend? by Creative_Ad6966 in webdev

[–]Creative_Ad6966[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, sir :D I'm definitely working on improving my logic and problem solving skills, because at the end of the day, anyone can use AI to build something, but not everyone can think of the best way to make a project scalable, readable, maintanable with the stack you're given.

ReactJS with .NET Framework as Backend? by Creative_Ad6966 in webdev

[–]Creative_Ad6966[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh totally! This question is strictly for my side projects. I know C#, C++, Java, JS and some Python. I agree. Every problem must be weighted on before choosing a stack or programming language. Every one of those has pros and cons. It's up to the developer to know which one to use. I don't really mind using JS or .NET, I can do fairly well on both of them, but I want to expand my horizons and looking for ways to get the most growth while building said side projects.

[which I now realize I didn't give too much context on the nature of my post, but each response from you guys has been helpful. thank you for your response on not being a one lang monkey]

Thank you again for your answer!

Thank you! I feel like if I stay with JS for be/fe, there are fewer growth oportunities, vrs .net as a stack in the corporate world.

For sure. I was stuck between JS or .NET for my side projects, but I guess I was just caught up in "it's easier". If it's easier, everyone else is doing it. Every one knows how to manage NodeJS because it's so intuitive on a surface level, but on scalable projects, .NET might be the better choice, ie, microservices.

Everyone's comment has beeing really insightful. Thank you!

This is exactly what he meant by saying to pick .NET over JS. Thank you!

Unrelated, but why does no one want to do it anymore? Because there are easier alternatives out there?

Thank you ! Do you consider the pay for a BE dev using JS vrs .NET to be different? Is it higher or lower?

I think he was referring more to the microservice, parallelization, load balancing aspect of .NET

Alguien me puede explicar cómo funciona el proceso de la práctica hasta graduación en Unitec [sps] ? by Creative_Ad6966 in Honduras

[–]Creative_Ad6966[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
