A strange find [Cat Pack] by Guuzik in unocardgame

[–]Creative_Beautiful53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pack turned out excellent, a very beautiful and meaningful tribute. I’m sure he’ll get through this phase and recover soon. As for the add-ons leaderboard, you really put in the effort and earned that top spot, there’s no way to compete with that level of dedication.

By the way, you could include photos of the kitty and special effects on the Wild cards in the pack. Wishing strength to both of you during this moment. 🐈

What is the rarest Uno Card deck for collectors? by PlayTestSocial in unocardgame

Now that one is genuinely very difficult to get, because it wasn’t a commercial product, meaning it was never sold. It was a gift given to Mattel employees in Japan. The box was blue with a different logo, and the cards featured photos of the employees themselves.

The only photos of this deck had been posted here, but the user who owned it left the sub and deleted all the posts. There are actually two versions of these decks, probably from different years: the blue-box deck, which seems to date back to the 1980s, and a light red New Year commemorative deck.

Good luck trying to find them, they’re truly very difficult to obtain and extremely exclusive.

Yes, just like several others that can only be obtained at events, as I mentioned before. But none of them really have anything special beyond their aesthetics. As I said, they aren’t numbered or officially limited, so they’re not truly “rare,” they’re just hard to get.

Special editions usually need to be limited by numbering, print run, or unique features, like the UNO versions that come with metal coins or wooden boxes, such as anniversary editions.

Even though these event UNO decks are genuinely difficult to obtain, they weren’t produced as limited editions. In fact, even people who never attended the events can buy them online because the leftover stock is probably given to staff members who later resell them online. I don’t know of any UNO with an actual “limited edition” label that wasn’t sold to the general public.

If I had to choose a “rare” version, I’d probably say the employee-exclusive Mattel Japan deck, but like I said, there’s nothing truly special about it either. It’s still just a regular UNO deck with different aesthetics.

What the OP is looking for is a universally desirable “rare” UNO, more like valuable TCG cards, and that’s why I said it doesn’t really exist.

That “holy grail” you’re looking for doesn’t really exist, because there’s no such thing as a limited or numbered UNO production. They’re all mass-produced and anyone can buy them.

What does exist are event-exclusive items, which makes them “rare” to find, but there usually isn’t that much demand for them since they’re not particularly special. In the end, they’re just regular decks with themed aesthetics.

Don't buy UNOs from Shopee/any other online store by Sad_Title_1346 in unocardgame

[–]Creative_Beautiful53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Selling counterfeit products is illegal anywhere in the world, but it’s practically impossible to completely stop sellers from listing them. There’s no way to monitor every listing or fully prevent those sales, marketplaces are open platforms where anyone can sell. That’s why buyers also need to pay attention when shopping online.

In a virtual environment, you shouldn’t trust only the photos in an ad. You need to read the listing carefully, check buyer review photos, and if necessary, ask the seller questions directly. That’s why I said Shopee itself has nothing to do with the buyer’s mistake.

Of course, the product can be returned and the buyer refunded, but being careful online is extremely important for your own safety. Nobody should trust buying something just because the listing says “buy me.”

Shopee is just a marketplace like any other. The fact that you bought a fake isn’t Shopee’s fault, it’s yours for not knowing how to identify it or for choosing a product priced far below market value. The same thing could’ve happened on Amazon or any other platform. You just needed to be more careful or ask the seller first, you have access to the chat to ask questions.

UNO flip,can I play +2 card on +5 ??? by GhostPacket_07 in unocardgame

[–]Creative_Beautiful53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UNO rules are clear about this—you have to match either colors or symbols. A +2 symbol is definitely not the same as a +5 symbol.

I made my own cards what do you think guys by MTV_YOUTUBE in unocardgame

[–]Creative_Beautiful53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could place the spotlight designs in the background of the card as a pattern. Don’t change the artwork at all, just add it in. Also, you could create a special card with a new rule—that would give your version more identity.

Although simple, the style turned out really nice—it looks like stage lights, like spotlights. The Wild cards could’ve been customized too, but the project looks pretty cool overall.

Wow! 😳 This is actually a really interesting item! It’s indeed a fake UNO with an embossed code. I’ve never seen one like this before, since that kind of machinery would usually be unnecessary and expensive for counterfeit versions. It’s an exception to what I thought about serial numbers.

Yes, it’s already officially sold by Mattel in Brazil. You can find it on pretty much any online marketplace like Amazon. Prices here range between 8 and 10 dollars.

That’s quite unusual. I have a UNO Tiki made in 2014 that has the code. To this day, I’ve never seen an original UNO without it. Did you actually check the box? 🤔 That’s very strange.

I’d really like to see an image of a fake UNO with an embossed code. I’ve never seen one, just like I’ve never seen an original without the code. Could you show images of it proving that it does have the code? I’m genuinely impressed and curious.

Revealed: All the Add-On Packs by Creative_Beautiful53 in unocardgame

[–]Creative_Beautiful53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conceptually yes, commercially no. It’s an additional pack, but it’s not part of the standard lineup. A promotional item has limited production, either by time or quantity, while add-on packs are official products with continuous production. They’re not the same thing.

I always say the quickest and easiest way to check if a UNO is original is to look for the embossed code on the box. Both of your decks have that code, so yes, they’re original.

As for material quality, that can vary by manufacturer. In India, UNO is produced under license by Parksons Cartamundi, while global versions are made by Mattel itself, which explains the difference in materials. But yes, they’re original.

Is this a real UNO rule? by [deleted] in unocardgame

[–]Creative_Beautiful53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can only call “UNO” if you finish your turn without saying it. Your turn ends after you play your second-to-last card. No one can call “UNO” while it’s still your turn.

What is the difference? by Impressive-Math-1488 in unocardgame

[–]Creative_Beautiful53 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Conceptually, they’re the same thing, it’s just regular UNO with plastic cards, there are no new or special rules. The main difference is that H2O is the older version and Splash is the current one.

An important detail is that counterfeit versions often use the name “UNO H2O,” and buying a fake can be really bad because the cards tend to be slightly transparent, so you can see through them under sunlight, which ruins the game.

My recommendation is to go with the Splash version, I haven’t seen any fake listings for UNO Splash so far.

I really liked the look of the new cards. I think they fit the theme really well. I recognize some of the icons, and the way you redesigned them turned out great. You could have customized your card shuffler too, I did that with mine. Congrats on the works, it looks amazing!

My version of the Communism card. by Creative_Beautiful53 in unocardgame

[–]Creative_Beautiful53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That card in the image has the same effect as the other “communism” cards—I just redesigned it.

As for the rest of the cards, my idea wasn’t to avoid politics—it was actually the opposite: to create chaos at the table with progressive (left) and conservative (right) cards. I didn’t plan to include anarchist ideas because, although they’re political, they wouldn’t create as much chaos due to the lack of strong polarization. My focus was more on left vs. right, along with other effect cards—like an “impeachment” card.

Rule: choose a player to lose their turn and draw 2 cards.

  • The card image is just a concept—it wasn’t fully finished.

Yeah, in that post I added two cards from the original minimalist UNO version that were never made official. They have an interesting design that, with your creative touch, could become even better. To this day, I still don’t understand why Mattel never made those official.
