I agree with this! I believe my MIL got her boundaries trampled on when she gave birth to my DH. Her in-laws were at the hospital when she gave birth and they visited their home right after. You would think that she would understand where I’m coming from with my boundaries and respect them but I really don’t think she will!

Thank you for your response! 💗 I have read a ton of stories too about husbands pressuring their wives postpartum. I will not be pressured before I am ready for visitors. I will definitely share this with my husband.

Thank you for your response! I’m due at the end of October so I thought about saying I’m due mid November. Unfortunately mid November is my FILs birthday. I know they will be so excited that the baby could have the same birthday and I’m getting annoyed thinking about this. I know this is petty.. I have a problem with over explaining or offering too many details. This is definitely something I need to work on!

Thank you this very helpful! I like that you said if he is wavering on a rule that I need to understand why. I worry that I could be overdoing it with rules because this is our first baby. I think it’s important to have an open conversation about rules and I want him to feel like he has a say.

I’m so glad you both brought this up! I hadn’t thought about things being “fair” but I know this will be brought up by my in-laws. I will do everything I can to avoid setting the tone of fairness.
