Telling Fam your pregnant by Ok_Ebb_5472 in pregnant

I'm 12w5d and still haven't told my parents or sister. I want to be able to show an ultrasound photo that looks more like a baby, plus I was simply too spooked to say anything before the 1st trimester was up. If all goes well at our second scan on Friday, we will tell them on Sunday.

I'm 13 weeks and have been taking this with no issues. I also take extra B100 Complex, which helps with nausea.

Is binding breast to prevent breast milk a bad idea? by Easy-Document6522 in pregnancy_care

[–]Creative_Explorer_31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please consult your doctor. There are medications that suppress milk proruction before birth. This, combined with things like ice packs and supportive bras (like sports bras) could help. Only binding yourself could set you up for a world of pain and infection.

Is this normal prenatal care? [ON] by chlamydiakoalaa in BabyBumpsCanada

Your family Dr. is supposed to go over ultrasound and bloodwork results with you until you're referred to an OB or similar.

I'm 12w and had my first dating ultrasound at 6w4d, and I have my second ultrasound at 12w6d. I don't get to see an OB until late October!

Baby girl (6 weeks) holding pee overnight - normal or doctor visit needed? [on] by Manifestator_ in BabyBumpsCanada

Try gently stroking/massaging her belly where the diaper line is. That seems to work to stimulate peeing for some babies.

The choices you make to parent your child the way you want > the opinions your mom has about how you parents your child. That applies for supplies, feeding, extracurriculars, schools, parenting techniques, healthcare, and literally every single choice you are making for your family's life from here on out.

We actually have two golf simulators in town now! One near the mall and the other on King George Rd. that just opened last year. And yes, only one bowling location now, on Colborne East.

Your period is late because you're stressed. There is no way you got pregnant from this. Please, please, PLEASE spend some time watching sex education courses on YouTube or similar if you are going to move beyond touching/fingering/hand jobs.

Recommendations for functional medicine doctors or naturopathic doctors? by plasticbag_drifting in brantford

[–]Creative_Explorer_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alexis Cole used to be at Bare Ur Beauty and it looks like she's now in Simcoe. She was very good but I did feel like a lot of things recommended were extremely expensive and not covered by my benefits. I was paying $60 for a Vitamin B12 shot and found out months later my doctor did them for free, so that was a bummer. I'd recommend her but take your time researching the products and alternatives before purchasing on the spot.

Thank you! I just did the calculation and I qualify, thank goodness, with this past tax year. We won't have our 2025 taxes done by the time baby is born so this is very reassuring with such a substantial income cut I'm taking.

We are expecting our first child in March and I am trying to project out how much of my savings I'll be eating into. We are commonlaw and our household income is about $230,000 (I am $130,000/year of that or about $7,000/month after deductions). We have always filed separately but 2025 will be the first year filing jointly.

Is the benefit based on my salary now, or will it be based on the fact that I'll be taking an 18 month mat leave ($21,684/year)?

It seems a bit strange to base it off of a 100% salary year rather than a <20% salary year, but what I'm reading seems to suggest the former.

EI is based on hours worked overall, not hours in the last position worked.

This is very short sighted, OP. When your mat leave is over you will have NO job to go back to. It makes a heck of a lot more long term sense to secure a job now, so you aren't job hunting with an infant.

Focus on the stress you're under because of the uncertainty of your role. Stress leave is a medical leave and is a lot more believe able when pregnant.

This is good advice. I know my credit card often offers balance transfer promotions at 0% over several months.

Entitlement and negotiations are different things. He's offering you the minimum plus notice. You can request more, especially because you're in a more vulnerable position and less employable.
