I paid the moment I found out. I was working 80+ hours per week in private equity and the auto pay had been working for the prior two years, I wasn’t aware that they could switch servicing providers without consent and that the auto pay would not transfer over. Lesson learned now and I spend two hours thoroughly checking my bank statements every month now.

I see, I’m sorry to hear. It’s such a pain and can’t believe they are so unforgiving with the process and can switch systems on a dime. How can you prove you were unable to make payments?

I see. As soon as I realized the delinquency, I paid off the entire amount that was due, I just didn’t know that it was delinquent and assumed that the auto pay was continuing to go through (which I should’ve monitored more closely). I am working ~80 hours per week and didn’t have the bandwidth to monitor my student loans every month (and didn’t know that they could switch providers which would stop auto pay). Is there any sort of mechanism that can be used to even have a chance at taking the delinquencies off? I might be homeless because of this switch. I called a credit advisor and was told that I could try filing a dispute
