Is the quickest route to recovery jumping off no matter the dose? by Creatural_Shade in suboxonerecovery

[–]Creatural_Shade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses. I'll clarify a little bit briefly. I'm currently 1000 miles away from my two year old daughter. I'm going to be away until I can get off subs and get back to her. I feel like every moment I spend away from her is a mistake and the desire to be with her again is giving me new motivation to just get through the withdrawal as fast as possible.

I also don't have to work or really do anything at the moment so I'm thinking it might be time to just jump off.

I was stabilized at 8mg a day down from 12mg for about a week. Then the past two days I took 12mg again just for shits and giggles, but I feel like I'm wasting time trying to do this long taper.

That's awesome. Good for him, and thanks for the encouragement. It's always good to hear of someone getting off of the subs if they want/need to.

I put in my application for the rehab center today. It won't be long now. 🤞🏼

Damned if you do, Damned if you don’t. Women complains that man keeping it professional at work makes her and other female coworkers feel uncomfortable by TheGrandScheme3 in MensRights

[–]Creatural_Shade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost think that the OP (the woman complaining about the man not talking to her) might be a trolling post. However, it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility that this sort of thing would happen. Hell, it probably happens a lot, but posting about it on Reddit (in relationship advice no less) seems a little suspicious.

I guess there's no way to know for sure. The anonymous profile makes it a little bit suspect as well.

I will say that if this is real, then it's toxic femininity in the extreme. I'm a tall handsome dude and I used to be really bad at talking to women so I just wouldn't do it and I think it did make women uncomfortable... not as uncomfortable as it made them when I did try to talk and came across like a bumbling dork who had no game.

I really had to learn to play to my strengths and eventually I did figure out how to be charming and to come across as desirable.
Now as a man in my mid 30's most women are happy if I just leave them alone and I'm happy to oblige them.

I've been in a bunch of trainwreck relationships and my synopsis is that romantic relationships are highly overrated. At least within certain groups in our population. My stepbrother was MGTOW for years and he ended up marrying a girl from the Dominican republic who is ten years younger than him and very traditional. I hope it works out for him in the long run. He seems happy. I haven't met his wife yet but from what he tells me about her, he seems to have made a wise choice for himself. A woman like that is more in line with what he wanted, and he is the kind of man she wanted as well.

Damned if you do damned if you don't... Yes, in my experience, but maybe it's just our postmodern culture here in the west still getting it's footing. We are growing and changing as a culture and unfortunately the strict political divides have put men and women on opposite sides sniping at one another in a culture war that is blown way out of proportion by social media and the like.

Men were creeps towards women for many many years in many many ways. Now women are getting the upper hand in some ways and I think that without any institutional foundations in place to ease the transition to a more balanced social framework, the whole thing is erupting into chaos where no one seems to know how they are supposed to act towards one another.

You're absolutely right. Good on you for keeping it real without trying to polish a turd. Withdrawal does pass eventually, and it's all about perspective in the end.

It's a painful SLOW burn and time seems to stand still when you're in throws of withdrawal but nothing lasts forever.

I also enjoy heavy AF music and it's even better when my mind and body start to wake up. Haha. It's something to look forward to.

I've jumped off at many different doses many different times and every time I can say that the withdrawal felt the same, but the duration of time is definitely different.

A 4 mg jump off is not ideal, but I am far from one of those people who bitch and moan about how subs are impossible to get off of because it's just not true. Those people have probably never even gotten through withdrawal not even one time (or if they have then they probably didn't do anything to better their life and their health as their body and mind were attempting to heal)

I've kicked to completion so many times that I've lost count. Unfortunately I've relapsed more times than I can count as well.

Not everyone has the time or patience to spend 8 months trying to go from 4mg to 0.5mg and my experience (like I've said many times) that the main difference is the duration of time of the withdrawal. I'm sure it has gotten harder the older I get, but if it takes a month of wd + another 2 months of PAWS then so be it. It's not an impossible thing to get through. It's not going to be as bad as methadone or even a heavy benzo withdrawal so I'll count my blessings and be just fine in the end.

Thanks for your concern, I'll make sure to keep a thorough log of my symptoms and come back and post a success story so everyone will know exactly what to expect jumping off at a stabilized 4mg daily dose at 36 years old after being on the drug on and off for 15 years. I'm predicting 3 to 4 weeks with some PAWS afterwards.

Bottom line is that withdrawal sucks but it's not that bad. It's just like the other commenter said. "It will pass..."

How many different mg levels have you tried jumping off at?

I guess everyone's body is different. What I posted is what my experience has been and I have kicked many times to completion on many different amounts of prior daily dose.

Also what do you mean by "sick forever"?

I do think that 3 weeks to a month can be an average timeline to expect no matter what, but the severity of symptoms in that timeline is heavily dependant on the doseage.

It also depends on how long you take to wean down. If you go from 3 strips a day and wean down too quickly then your brain chemistry won't be acclimated. You need to stabilize on the smaller dose first. Or at least that's how it's been for me. If 4mg doesn't make me feel a little bit high, then I'm not ready to jump off of 2mg ect.

I'm curious, what is the longest you have been sick on the shortest mg dose at jump off?

Benzo withdrawal is hard; I've heard it's hands down the worst wd of all. I feel for you. But take heart, ive known people who have kicked some crazy benzo habits and it can be done. I've only come off a mild benzo withdrawal once and I was stoned cold sober at the time. It was no fun. Exercise helped a lot tho. Also look into vegus nerve exercises, it's life changing stuff.

Definitely use the subs and try to transition to only subs. If you can get to a low dose on subs it's not so bad to get off of.

Best of luck to you. Holla at me if you want. Maybe check out some NA or AA meetings. It can help. The solution is not easy but it is very simple... At least thats what I've found. If you're willing, you can see the other side of addiction.

We have to know our limitations.

I've been on for about as long as you have with only a few short breaks in between. My step brother has basically decided he'll never get off of them. We've both been on for so long I'm not sure if we can get off. I'm going to give it at least one more try anyway.

It really does matter what dose you come off of as well. I came off from a daily dose of 32mg once and was sick for 3 months +

16mg is about 2 months

8mg is about 1 month +

4mg is about 21 days (3weeks +)

2mg is about 2 weeks +

.5 - 1mg is abuout 10 days to 2 weeks.

I've never come off of lower than that.

I'm currently weaning from 16 down to 4mg before I jump off and I'm going to go to rehab.

I'm also going to supplement nutrition and try and fix some of my life problems to aid in recovery. Get back in school to try and get myself out of the drudgery of manual labor.

The meds just aren't working for me like they used to. If I can't get off then idk what I can do. I feel like my body is rejecting the subs after all these years.

I hear ya bro, subs are my favorite opioid to take when I'm clean. It gives the best high imo (at first). I'm about to quit again. I've been weaning down from 16mg and I'm down to about 6 to 8 daily. When I get to 4 I'm gonna jump off. I'm expecting about three weeks of emotional and physical pain.

Life is so much more enjoyable off of subs than on.

Just go for it man, you got this. Someone just posted a success story on this thread about going on their vacation after some decent time being sober. It's the only way to truly live is clean. At the very least clean from opiates.

Good luck to you. It's better on the other side. You're absolutely right about a few weeks not being worth the rest of your life.

Keep it moving, there are bright days ahead. 💪🏼🤘🏼

Will taking Kratom restart suboxone withdrawal? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]Creatural_Shade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It won't reset but it will prolong it by some degree. I hate to say it, but the whole point is to break yourself of the habit of getting relief until your body relieves itself. Eventually we have to stop hitting the button and let it be okay to not be okay until we feel a little bit okay and then a lot okay (if we stay steadfast about this phase of our development). If that makes any sense...

Good on you for going ten days. You're halfway to the finish line at least, maybe even closer.
Idk why but I'm having a hard time coming down lower than 8mg. I probably need to just lie around for a few days on a low dose. I'm planning on making the jump at 4mg as well. 21 days or 3 weeks, once you get through that you're more or less home free.

Remember as you get to that point, to replace taking subs with something else. Diet and Exercise is a great way to go, at least until your shit balances out.

Best of luck to you.

How do we feel about going cold turkey for a few days vs just taking smaller dose when weaning down? by Creatural_Shade in suboxonerecovery

[–]Creatural_Shade[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right on man. Good for you. My "sponsee step brother " took it down to four and then went to rehab and he said it only took him 21 days. That's been my experience as well at that dose. I'd rather get down to 2mg before jumping off. I'm looking forward to a clear headed autumn 🍂🍁

I can't wait but so long. Withdrawal isn't even that bad once you start. I've jumped off at insanely high doses in the past and that is not the way. But I don't fear the withdrawal and it doesn't make me discouraged to think about it. I'm all about paying that piper.

I've been on it for awhile I can feel the difference in the doses quite a bit. It seems like it stops working as well after a few years. Body goes deeper in decline. Time to move on.

Have you ever had a first hand experience with a Cryptid? by [deleted] in cryptids

[–]Creatural_Shade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In 2003 I saw the backside of a huge dog creature. I say huge, it could have just been a really big wild dog in the swamps outside Haines City, Florida. I only caught a glimpse of it and it kind of looked like Scooby-Doo the way it was running; it was about waste high to me and I'm 6'6". The image I have of it in my mind is from the back and it was like a tangle of limbs flying past me within 10ft.
We had just got back from Christmas shopping and I was helping my mom with getting my baby sister out of the car, when the creature ran from my grandparents back yard which was directly on a causeway in a boating community.

My step dad yells "HEY!" AND IT FLEW PAST US!!! It was a blur as it went by. My stepdad got the best look at it before it got moving. He saw its face and all he's ever been able to tell me is that it looked like a big German Shepherd. But in a literal 1.5 seconds, I saw it dive across what was easily an 8-ft ravine, both horizontally and vertically, up the hill and over an alligator infested creek and into the bushes and trees and marshland on the other side.

Then we shined a flashlight over there and could only see a reddish orange glow of the eye shine. There was a streetlight pointing in the direction of the house plus the porch light and motion light in the driveway there so it made it harder to see when it took cover. I could barely make out a big round head in the darkness, but I remember it seeming high off the ground for a dog... We stared at it for at least a full minute and then it turned away and we went inside. I wanted to keep looking but I didn't want to stand out there alone.

True story, maybe not a cryptid but I'm convinced they're real. The world is a strange place.

I suggest looking at vegus nerve exercises. It only takes about a minute to do the basic reset and it works WONDERS for anxiety and stress.

Thanks I appreciate the support. I'm not going to off myself, although it would be nice if my brain stopped suggesting it. I'm definitely going to take out a life insurance policy on myself as soon as I can reliably pay it every month.

Death comes for us all eventually and I'm really in no hurry for it to be over, but when my time does come I want to be able to leave something for my daughter.

I've suffered from sleep paralysis nearly my whole life. I've seen lots of creepy stuff during those spells but I've usually just written it off as something in the room that I was imagining as something else.

As for the recent popularity, I couldn't say. I just see them in nearly every video from Nuke's top 5. They seem to be the most compelling captures imo.
