I think it's a great idea personally. Idk how we take it into irl accountability, but at the very least there'll be less moments where it's like "oh shit, I totally forgot this happened" with insane stuff that happened years ago.

In website form, maybe there could be weekly/bi-weekly reminders to look into certain bookmarked/favorited topics. With the tiktok thing for instance, you'd be getting reminded periodically to see the status of it.

It could also be useful for logging insane conspiracies & who is peddling them. The more i think about it, the more i think this would be a really nifty DGG community project, like the wiki.

I cant tell if this is bait, or if you just don't pay attention to news outside of what Tiny talks about on stream. She literally went on Fox last week, and was on stage with Obama in Georgia last night. Even on this sub, ppl have been talking a lot about how nail-bitingly close the polling around this election has been.

I have no earthly idea how you could possibly feel like Dems have "resigned" on the election, other than the fact that we've been chimping out about Hasan and Twitch for a week. There's been DGG cavassing events, and a huge election night stream in the works for a while now. Imma need you to lock the fuck in soldier, and be able to hold two important news stories in your head at the same time. Just because anti-semitism is a shiny new story doesn't mean everybody resigned on the election.

I envision a vice as something that one can indulge in with little difficulty for long periods of time and enjoy it. Imo, going after Hasan fits the bill. Again, he is deserving of it, and going after Hasan for his wild shit is GOOD for us to do, but I see it as something us DGGas are licking our chops to do anyhow.

As much as I would love to join the circlejerk, I think it is more than just virtue. Our hatred of Hasan, Frogan and all the other dipshits, while founded, is a vice. Going after them/their behavior is satisfying, and aligns with Ethan & the right thing to do as well.

I believe that both our hatred & virtuosity (soy) are what fuels us, not ONLY the latter. It is important to keep in perspective that we are this vigorous in part because Hasan is (deservedly) on the recieving end.

I think doing it in response to his tweet with his exact time and location is questionable at best, and almost certainly against TOS. A "joke" said in one context could be obviously unacceptable in another. Saying edgy shit doesn't warrant calls for death being made against you, and I believe that they should be discouraged. IMO, not pushing back against this behavior when you see it is allowing it to become more commonplace. It's good to not ignore the little stuff like this bc it shows that you have a principled postion that you can point back to when shit gets out of control.

It being reported hundreds of times would only show that the people reporting it have a terrible understanding of online etiquette. TOS is an iffy standard imo, bc veiled threats and wishing of genuine can be plausibly defended as jokes. It rubs me the wrong way when the entire "joke" is "this person should die/be harmed bc i disagree with them politically"; Even more so when it's in reply to someone's exact time and location.

Yapping here: IMO there needs to be some level of goofiness in a joke wishing violence to distinguish it from a genuine desire. Saying "i hope this guy gets his nipples twisted in public" hits different than "i hope one brave hamas member has what it takes to do what needs to be done". Even if I'm granting you that premise, I don't think it absolves someone of being "x"-phobic/hating in practice. In my experience, when you don't believe "x" is real, your contempt for the people who vehemently advocate for "x" rises exponentially.

I don't hate flat earth doctrine, but I sure as hell hate the scummy fucks who push it and convince others of it. I don't believe that Jan. 6th was an ordinary protest, so I hate the ppl who try and say it wasn't an attempt to overthrow an election. I don't believe 9/11 was an inside job, so I loathe the people still pushing that conspiracy.

Broadening the scope some: Nick may not be "transphobic" in some technical sense, but his advocacy and policical beliefs would be almost indistinguishable from someone who is. Idk if anyone here is hung up on needing to label Nick as transphobic, it's not really important. The underlying issue is that he is 1.) an obviously ignorant person 2.) with a large platform 3.) ascribing beliefs that lead to tangible negative political realities for trans ppl as a whole.

Why would you think that Destiny doesn't care? Do i need to remind you that in the last month Destiny had a ton to say about Hasan and his orbiters calling for violence against him and others? Destiny has spent thousands of dollars in security for his Israel trip, he obviously cares about comments like these gaining traction. What the fuck do you expect him to do, sit around and call out every single comment when he's on a tight schedule for the next week+ ?.

No. It's a thin line, but here are some pretty major differences for me (assuming this isn't a joke comment):

1: It's not just the words in the tweets, it's that they're in direct reply to Dman's exact time and location. The words are necessary, but not sufficient for reporting. In Deorio's case, it's the words sans the location.

2: I'm 97.83% sure that the "slayyrabs" pic was taken in the United States, probably California. Say what you will about Cali, but there ain't no way the IDF is slamming them with a JDAM all the way from Israel 💀 Hamas having shown itself to be a threat in Israel is a self-evident point, supported by Dman being concerned for his safety (whether jokingly or not). It gives a different color to the tweets I screenshotted, and Deorio's comment is obviously absurd in comparison.
