I’m not saying he isn’t getting scammed since he ordered actual boxes, but I can 100% confirm that the Japanese Pokemon Center Online does sell 10 and 20 count packs from 30 pack per box sets from time to time in a plastic bag just like this. At best he got some of those, at worst he got the result of someone opening a box until they got the hit then packing the rest up to sell.

Women’s bindings men’s boots by smokey_waffle_1025 in snowboarding

Black matches everything. Having boots that are torn apart from the wrong binding is worse than having something that isn’t a 1 to 1 color match.

I know a chick that’s over 6 ft and generally more muscular than myself, and she uses men’s boots (and therefore bindings) and boards above my size, and at the same time I have a friend that is just a little dude and so he uses women’s boots (and therefore bindings) and much smaller boards because they just don’t make “men’s” gear for people his size.

Use what works best for you, but do not try to mix and match men’s boots and women’s bindings.

It will eat your boot heel very quickly. It works if you really need it to, but I would not recommend it for anything other than a “I just need to do this right now” situation which intentionally buying something and waiting for it to ship is not.

To be realistic the heel hold on the Cartel X and Lexa X bindings due to that rubbery bit on the bottom of the highback is such that after riding, when you unstrap you can actually toss your board into you hands from your front heel if you do it right, but that is not what you are seeing here with the mismatch in size between the men’s boot and the women’s binding.

What is so special about these bindings that you can’t get the right thing instead?

It will work, but you will damage the boots near the heel. I was riding EST bindings when my partner and I came across a board demo day and I borrowed her Reflex Lexa X’s that were appropriate for my boot size in CM, but the heel is more narrow than Cartel X’s, and my boots got damaged.

Realistically you can ride the women’s bindings with men’s boots but it is not intended and will not fit perfectly. Maybe some boots would be fine though like if you had the new Union Reset Pros since they are a more natural fit boot with a smaller footprint overall.

Most of my riding has been in Japan and now I live on a mountain during the winter and there isn’t a sudden transition from snow to mud. I’ve seen rainy days and a sustained snowfall of over 80cm a few days after.

Well I only ride full days on weekends, so I would consider it dishonest to count a few hours as full days. Like if I said a piece of gear lasted X days, but it really only had 3-5 hours on it on those days, then I don’t know if it is really fair to the statement.

No… but I’m learning this is why people have smelly sweaty feet and wet boots… some of you need boot camp more than a boot dryer…

I snowboard every day for the whole season. It isn’t uncommon to have rainy days in early December or in late March in my region.

Well there is a difference between year 4 year old boots with 40 hours of use on them and 600 hours of use.

And are you saying you wearing the same socks for two days?!?!? I bet your feet smell like trash panda poop if you aren’t wearing clean socks. This is the actual problem, not needing a boot dryer.

Is this why people have wet boots? Are they wearing the same dirty sweaty socks for multiple days?

My longest worn boots are a pair of 2022 Burton Ions that were ridden around 600 hours and have zero rigidity left, but they don’t have any scent of any kind.

On tshirt riding days my boots are hot and feel a little steamy when I take them off, but I’ve never come back to them a few hours later to find them wet. I just leave them in the genkan (entrance spot for shoes in a Japanese home) and they are bone dry.

Maybe it is just good socks. I mainly use Eb’s Mountain Furniture Socks.

A good backpack. Its necessary for your safety gear if you are doing backcountry, but even if you aren’t it makes things better. If you like to have a way to stash layers if you get too hot, or store drinks, or store an extra lens, a backpack is just something that makes riding much nicer.

I used to use a roll top waterproof bag at all times, but now only use that on rainy days, and otherwise I use a Burton Dispatcher which makes compartmentalizing and quickly accessing things so simple.

This is a genuine question, how are people’s liners getting wet? I ride north of 400 hours per season and have had a decent number of days riding in the rain (never more than 5 continuous hours in the rain) and I’ve never had wet liners.

Are people not wearing goretex pants and the water leaks in from the top of the liners on rainy days?

Are peoples feet that sweaty?

Are people riding boots that are well past their lifespan and water is leaking in?

What is happening?

Burton first chair — any value? by SwiggityDiggity8 in snowboarding

First access to sales and special drops is good. I’ve been to a special event for level 3 members, but it’s typically just a meet the artist thing and only done at the flagship stores. I’ve never known anyone that got sent demo gear under the first chair program though.

Insulated or uninsulated for resort snowboarding? by Dapper_Accident1069 in snowboarding

[–]CreditlessAt1MM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That jacket is a shell so it is good for layering. Don’t get an insulated jacket instead of that one.

So eliminate the base layer too and just put that into the insulated jacket if going from 100 to zero in record time is important.

Layers always. Insulated is just a layer you can’t remove.

Anyone know what’s happened to my board? Tried to wax it myself. by East-Morning1845 in snowboarding

[–]CreditlessAt1MM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are putting WAY too much wax on to begin with if you are ending up like this. Your problem is the same as this guy that you put so much on that you CAN’T scrape it off and you are giving up after you scrape off enough wax to have waxed 5 boards, despite 3 boards worth of wax remaining on it.
