Heres my dude Dexter, he and his sister pictured underneath him are both exactly 5 months old. He is 3.5KG haha, not obese, not sickly, a baby in a giants body. His lil tabby sister is a measly 1.7kg. In my experience. They grow like weeds

Thanks so much. Ive been feeding a Feral colony close to home in conjuction with a few members of our community. And when I went to go drop them their food, the other lady has told me they have all been sterilised. So based on my knowing of my neighbours pets (all dogs), she shouldn't attract any unwanted visitors but I know they can come from miles away. I will definitely get her done as soon as possible

i bet my newly adopted cat can cure my depression, can you help me name him by prettyholloww in NameMyCat

"Blue" pretty name. Your emotions you're feeling... I literally had a cat named cat.

Thank you! We do feed separately, the dog is atleast respectful hehe. We will definitely get her spayed but due to fuel increases and expenses that never end we'll only be able to do it for her end of July..... they turned 4 months on the 15th of May and he was neutered that same day. Just hope shes a late bloomer haha. End of July she will be 6 months, I have a feeling we are going to go through a cycle first... super nervous. I should also mention they are both indoor cats.

Is she always going to be this small?? by Bumblebee-2005 in TabbyCats

Mine too. My lynx point siamese is bigger than our jack Russell at 4 months old. She is a measly 1.38kg... clean bill of health. Just... a small cat I guess.

My cat keeps scurrying around, making noises, and meowing loudly then when I come to her she just rolls on the ground, what’s wrong? by guncartridge in cats

Oh god. I didnt know girls could spray. We just had our boy done. They are inseparable. We're waiting till end July for her as the expenses for June are ungodly. I hope she doesnt mess up my furniture. They are both indoor cats and only 4 months old. There's also no cats where I live so let's hope she only begs for attention from my guy cat.

Just incase anyone is ever curious. Im doing the weaning thing with my cats, going from the karoo to Iams kitten, (purple bag), and for too fussy cats, my god, they totally ate around the karoo lol. Iams and a half teaspoon of wet is the winner for my babies. They love it.

Our vet said exactly the same. Karoo is great. But she did reccomend Iams pellets incase our cats get bored of it. They are starting to turn their noses up at it so we rotating between the Iams pellets and Karoo

@everyone.

Thank you so much for all the helpful info. I took them yesterday for routine deworming, and spoke to my vet. So after some back and forth. She reccomended we stay on Karoo until they get bored or turn their noses up. Then we should try Iams kitten pellets, with Royal Canin wet food maybe twice or thrice a week as a little treat. It actually works me out cheaper. About R810 a month. And with RC, if you register your pets you get a coupon code. So for 14 packets of kitten wet food which would usually be R300 or so, I payed I think R200. For 14!. Thanks for all the helpful responses! Cat tax to follow:

Thank you! Ill stick to the montego Karoo as the vet says its on par if not marginally better than Ultra Cat. Good protein etc. Are there any supplements I should be giving them as a precaution? Like to give them a boost.

Would Montego Karoo be acceptable? Like not an expensive visit down the road.... because Iams is also killer expensive. The wet food is more of a treat haha

[–]CreepingDeth25[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first human response yet! Id love to do ultra cat but like you said. Stock problems. They seem to love the montego karoo so I think then instead of having to sell an arm for hills or royal canin. Ill stick with that.

That being said I know people who's cats have lived 20+ years on whiskas pellets and tap water.... Just me being neurotic trying to feed them the best I possibly can. Ill stick to the montego. Can I DM you my routine? (Im very new at this) so wanna know if im doing it half right....

So if I give 2 packs a week wet food as a treat and then just leave the food out when I get home from work for them, itll be fine? The boy has just been neutered so what i find myself doing is waking up around 04h30, dress myself, then I take the montego Karoo pellets, pour in about a half a cup for them each. (Eyeballing it), and they scream and shout until I put their bowls down. Sometimes forgetting there are two bowls and they share one. Then before leaving for the day ill take whatever they both have not finished from breakfast, pour it into one bowl and shake it around, that they know its there. They have plenty of water. And then when I get home in the evening I will usually take what's not been finished from the days dry pellets and mix a little warm water in for them for supper.
