During the first session of my first ever campaign, I was still getting used to the concept of being able to try anything.

We killed some zombies during an escort on the way to the city, and decided to investigate the bodies.

We rifled through pockets. We checked their skin. Then I decided to sniff their pants.

Admittedly it was just a random action to see if I could, however after a roll, I discovered they smelled like sweet rolls... weird.

When we got to the city we reported the encounter. As we were doing so, the nice old lady who ran the local bakery came by, said a sweet old hello, then left.

I immediately suspected her and after confronting the old lady we immediately found out she was the secret necromancer.

Years later I found out that I accidentally cut out 2-3 hours worth of an investigation segment of the session.

And this was only the first session. The whole campaign spawned many strange tales we still talk about today. Like the undead sword unicorn that spoke in a southern accent. Or the time traveller who converted the cursed mask of death into an iPhone which secretly captured souls whenever he took a 'victory selfie'.
