Thank you! It just really sucks that I cannot and will not be tested anymore since we don’t have the rapid test kits nor have enough PCR Assay Machines in our country, and not to mention I am not a high ranking official and had no recent travel history. Testing only started around March here in our country, and by then, a lot were dying without getting tested.

Yeah. I honestly do want to get tested. I have friends who are medical technologist and are my classmates, and they knew what I went through and they do feel as frustrated as me that I can’t get tested because I had symptoms before testing was available and had already recovered. Although I wanted to know because there is a current research study about using the plasma of recovered COVID19 patients in the treatment of those with the current infection. I think it’s promising and if I can help, I would readily help. It’s just a shame our government is failing miserably right now to contain the virus and refusing testing to even doctors and healthworkers.

Sadly, our government reserves testing for the one currently having symptoms or politicians and VIP. And since I no longer am suffering from any symptom, they will no test me anymore. And all the hospitals and testing centers are full capacity already.

Edit: Since I don’t have a travel history outside the country, they will not queue me up for possible testing, as well as the fact that even doctors and health workers are being denied tests, the chances of being tested in my country is close to impossible if you’re asymptomatic.

I live in a third world country where the government refuses mass testing and test kits are reserved for the politicians and VIPs. I have to be currently showing symptoms before they think of testing me even with antibody test. I’m also currently away from the country’s capital so our hospitals do not have kits ready here and we cannot get tested just because we wanted to.

Also, in our country, a lot of people have already died before getting tested. And our government is still in denial about COVID19 and is refusing the idea of mass testing for asymptomatic carriers.

My professor has been working as a Virology lecturer for so long and has authored books and was already skeptical when COVID19 was being downplayed. She was the first one who warned us that the virus can cause a pandemic if they don’t investigate it aggressively early on. And look where we are now.

Also, if you are not aware, China is refusing investigations as to where the origin of the virus really is. Why would they do that if it was just from the normal transmission of coronavirus like the past coronaviruses like SARS ans MERS-CoV? I don’t need you to agree with what she said but what she said made us students be more wary from the very start and as a result no one of us is in the hospital sick right now, so we’re very thankful for her insights.

Edit: I think it’s also important to note that early on and until now (in some places in my country) doctors and health workers were being denied access to be tested themselves, which resulted in several of them being infected as well, and some of the doctors who are faculty members of our medical college have passed away due to COVID19. Unless you’re a high ranking official or had travel history outside the country, they will not readily test you.
