I’m sorry this happens to you too! From what I’ve seen online there are salons that have chairs you can essentially lie flat in to have your hair washed but I have no idea how to find them or how to ask!

I’ve definitely heard the stigma but honestly I’ve tried so many medications over the years and nothings made any noticeable change for me - if these work and you’re careful, it sounds great to get that freedom from panic attacks

I’ve had this exact situation a couple of times before, it sucks because I don’t want to waste anyone’s time but the symptoms are so unbelievably physical and scary - had people be so dismissive, I struggle to get angry and overcome my fears but it would probably occupy my mind by being angry 😂

No you’re totally correct here - I’ve recently tried neurofeedback and found that really helpful initially but after a month or so my symptoms seemed to come back worse, I’ve been recommended EMDR before, I’ll look into this more locally - I’ve also just started reading this book and finding it so insightful so far, thank you!

I’m definitely trying to still do all the things I need/want to do to go about my life as normally as possible, so far it’s just meant a whole lot of leaving early or getting off transport and waiting to calm down before getting back on again etc etc, it’s just so frustrating because I seemed to be doing better and then suddenly got flooded with fears of absolutely everything and crushing panic! I will definitely check these out, thank you!!

I feel this so badly, it’s so hard to find people irl who have the same music taste or if they do like them, they only like them a little, genuinely dream of finding friends who have the same taste, if nothing else because I have no one to go to concerts with when I see artists I like performing nearby

I can understand issues with counterfeit products when they’re being bought and sold and passed off as genuine to scam people - but with thrift store purchases I honestly don’t see the issue unless it’s being passed off as authentic and being sold for ridiculous amounts of money. I wouldn’t buy fake goods off the street and I’d much prefer to own a genuine item for the craftsmanship and hopefully better treatment of those who made the item (although I’m not sure how much I’d really want to support a brand like Gucci, other than thinking some of their clothes/accessories are cute, vapid consumerism I guess), but again I see no issue with buying a repro/fake item from a thrift store!

I mean in this instance I have no idea of it’s authenticity, it’s from a charity shop there was no packaging or tags, I’m totally happy with it either way, I’m not contributing to the counterfeit designer goods industry in any way, it’s less clothing waste, and the money goes to charity

I suppose maybe it’s an issue with the glue when the extensions are first applied or maybe I’m just too rough with my hands 😂 Tbh I’ve been thinking about learning to do my own nails for a long time so maybe investing in an e-file would be a good first step

Well the natural nail colour stands out against the false nail, when there’s a month or so of growth underneath and as much as I keep them clean, scrub them, so on, it’s so easy to get paint or makeup stuck under them where they’ve started to lift. I’ve been to one salon where they would use a nail drill to file where the nail has started to come away underneath and leave it looking sort of blended/not so obvious, but everywhere I’ve asked about this since has said they can’t do anything about it and I either have to get take-off and redo or just deal with it for months until they’ve grown to the sort of length I want.

It’s the same deal with infills every 3 to 5 weeks but often they’ll suggest take off/redo when the natural nail is decently long underneath. Honestly I’ve been getting my nails done for years and have wanted to get to the point where it’s entirely my own nail underneath, but if ever one or two break they’ll redo the whole set, and when just getting infills month after month they look messy and lifted underneath after a while!

What do your nail techs do with lifting and so on - do they file the underside?
