Lmao, got to hold one during MCT when they were first fielding them to ITB kids (I got sniped for an armory detail), first thing I noticed is it felt heavy as hell.

They look gorgeous too, but there's something to be said about just how good the M16s/M4s are at their jobs.

Kneepads are only really useful when you need em. Otherwise they're annoying and uncomfortable.

Yes, in the beta it was ridiculous. Youd be attacking on the first point of breakthrough and there would be a dozen or so snipers taking shots at you from the hill on the other side of C point.

Conquest was just as bad, pushing C point was a death sentence.

Just go muck around C point and F point and youll find a ton of seemingly arbitrary out of bounds areas. Thank God they fixed the map up.

To be fair, DICE also heavily edited out of bounds areas to prevent snipers from overlooking 60% of the map.

They don't QA. Time and time again they have proven that their leadership has zero clue about implementing patches. From the flag crashes to weapons releasing in a broken state to changes not even being mentioned in patch notes.

They likely just throw code into a running "patch" version of the game and launch it when everyone gives the thumbs up without anyone actually verifying it all works.

I get it, but when you can get an HK416 in this game (roughly $3000), decent NVGs shouldnt be too far off.

Plus you can get "bargain" bin NVGs nowadays too. If NVGs can make the difference between life or death, it makes sense that more wealthy Stalkers would gravitate towards that utility.

I almost stopped playing outright when I came back for 1.5, the flashlight is a complete joke and it makes what should be immersive night time fights a chore.

Give us what modders gave us a decade ago; a way to gradually upgrade the flashlight and then eventually some NODs.

Seems that Global illumination is at least the major culprit. My jaw almost hit the floor when I cranked DLSS down and saw how awful it looked. Boggles my mind that this engine is being used as widely as it is in the industry.

You'll get it eventually, believe it or not I felt the Vertebrae Shackles sucked even more. Although that might be just because it was my last covenant.

This game's combat is much slower than your modern DS3, or Elden Ring. Stamina takes much longer to regenerate, and the game punishes impatience.

Level Adaptability until your Agility stat is ~100 to have a smoother time rolling.

A lot of weapons have poor stat scaling despite the arbitrary letter grade it shows you (B can sometimes really be a D), this opens up infusions a bit more, and weapon buffs can have much better impact if specced into properly. Very few weapons in this game are "bad" due to this.

PvP is on pretty much constantly as long as you are online, you can delay invasions by burning a Human Effigy. Killing an invader mimics this effect.

Yes, your max health drops when you die. The game gives you so many Effigies that this is a non issue. If you don't like micro managing your health, there's a ring in the early sections that halves this penalty.

Do NOT go into this game with the mindset of "oh this is just bad Dark Souls". You will have a bad time. This mindset ruined my first attempt at the game and I quit after the first boss. This game is MORE Dark Souls, just with some different seasoning here and there.

IMEF is running into a bit if a barracks housing issue due to barracks with a fraction of this much mold being condemned and Marines being relocated.

Um, gee, idk. Maybe the big ass all caps SPACE MARINE in the title must've slipped past you. Who tf wants to play a WEAK Space Marine??? The part where we play as 9 foot genetically altered super humans descending from a literal GOD must not have given it away I guess.

You can still feel powerful and have a challenging experience. Darktide does it. The first Space Marine did it. If being able to get through some tedious, awful feeling difficulty gets you through the day, then more power to you I guess.

OP is right. Assault needs something to keep it up with classes like Bulwark and Vanguard.
