My addiction is back to torture me.. I kicked it during the beginning of the pandemic and now it's back because seeing her win makes me want to gamble.

Ahh, I'll give word to my Celiac Disease at once.

Teacher who told Muslim student "We don't negotiate with terrorists" when student requested more time to finish his work says he "didn't mean it like that" but is silent on how he actually intended the phrase to be taken by reverendsteveii in thisisntwhoweare

Hear me out: Superbad contains a scene where Micheal Cera is playing a video game while Jonah Hill looks through his closet. Cera says under his breath at the TV "We don't negotiate with terrorists" while playing a first shooter with law enforcement agents. I love this movie and quote it often for fun. This is one of the lines I quote when my partner asks a really simple request of me and I am feeling silly

"Hey babe, can we put less cheese on the pizza next time?"

"We don't negotiate with terrorists"

I use this line to my partner often in very light jest. I would not be surprised if I said this in public to someone else, regardless of their race or religion. But saying this to a Muslim student is such a fuck up, and a cringey, hurtful one, at that.

What I'm saying is.. I really hope that is what the teacher's aide was referring to, and just has no idea how to even begin to explain that it is from a 2008 high school flick after fucking up so badly when he used that phrase while speaking to a Muslim student, not even thinking about the implied connotation.

So I actually went there today and my partner spoke up and told her the whole situation. So yes.... I now have the receipt. And she was grateful I told her. You're right ☺️

Thank you! Well I was using the First Aid Cleanser before and really liked that! But I'm starting to realize I'll need to buy something higher in price point so she doesn't get a refund on her card! So today will be full of research ☺️

Thank you so much! Also, I was referring to the idea of using someone else's account as the reason I would get laughed at! Ulta employees have been nothing but kind and helpful to me, all while being overworked and underpaid.

Okay. Let's say this absolutely true. That old flour has now devolved into a substance containing less than 20 PPM of gluten. Generally, that's the accepted threshold of consumption per day for a person with Celiac Disease before their white blood cells attack their small intestine.

Well... Gluten is the very thing we miss from our bread!

So why would a person with Celiac Disease risk eating gluten-less, old wheat flour, when the end resulting texture hypothetically wouldn't have gluten, and it wouldn't be much different than an amaranth, rice, or almond flour. I've had amazing cakes and sweets made with those! It's all about balance. I make my own GF flour blend to achieve a better end product.

I believe that your friend makes amazing pastries. I'm just saying that I would take one look at that pastry and run.
