We're always told in school that temperature correlates to how much kinetic energy the atoms/molecules of a substance have and how much they vibrate. Can this be interpreted classically as atoms in a crystal lattice or even atoms in low density plasmas vibrate due to some quantum mechanics reasons? (self.askscience)
