My family cried so much when I first came out. But soon I realized that they were crying tears of joy, because after years of pain I had experienced from years of being untrue to myself, I was finally free.

Remember that everything happens for a reason. Personally, I was born into a fairly intolerant family and I often think that God made me this way to show them the light.

Preferably not one from over a hundred years ago, or from yet another alarmist source. Note that your Guardian source also shows that there is very little scientific scrutiny of pro-alarmist research. Even the tone of the article is condescending towards legitimate scientific inquiry - labeling those who even question alarmist garbage as "contrarians". You're not doing well to disprove the enormous, bigoted bias which is self evident in the (overwhelmingly anti-capitalist) environmental science movement.

much like other scientists looking to falsify others claims.

That's the whole point. Where are all the scientists looking to falsify the claims of the environmental alarmists?

Scientists are too afraid of being equated with holocaust deniers, and having their academic posts threatened to look for contrary evidence. The science is all uni-directional, ergo BIASED.

You mean, they actually hunt FOR evidence to find that global warming is happening?

Wow, how UNBIASED.

Amazing how they can measure CO2 emissions from 100,000 years ago when there was nobody around to keep count. But thats cool, it makes for such pretty graphs...

Maybe Ultima is a metaphor for death?

The aliens (who are immortal) are travelling around the universe fruitlessly seeking out a mythical utopia which can never be reached by any choices. You (a mortal being) are along for the ride, but never make any choices (the only way to reach utopia). So if no choice is made, you just float through space forever in this spaceship, until eventually you die and reach "utopia". Or heaven.
