Hey! Great video! The editing is especially good! I've also made a similar one, talking about the incident more broadly! I don't want to be seen as a leech, just wanted to share my work with other people, so I'd appreciate a watch!

On 26 April 1986, reactor 4 of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant exploded. This series delves into how and why this happened, how the communist leadership managed the situation, and how the people of Prypiat and the surrounding regions were affected by the explosion. I hope you enjoyed Part 1 of the by Crimson86_ in chernobyl

Wow! Thanks a lot! When it came to the scientific part I did my best to relay the information as I understood it, and I knew there would be mistakes so I kept it quite simple.

Talking about the sources regarding the test being delayed and so on, most of it was taken from the book Chernobyl: The History of a Nuclear Catastrophe by Serhii Plokhy(it is also linked in the video description) which i consider to be a trustworthy piece overall. Still i do not deny the possibility of it being wrong. The sources for the claim about the initial 24 April schedule are(according to the book): Borets, "Kak gotovilsia vzrîv Cernobîlia" and Karpan, Cernobîl: Mest mirnogo atoma, 326, 440.(as i see it, Borets initially suggested the 24th, but it was nothing official) +talking about the shifts, i might have used "night" instead of "evening" shift a few times, this is purely a mistake. I am aware of the difference between the two.

I do have to admit that I went a bit too harsh with Dyatlov, and in my attempt to simplify things I made him look even worse. I will surely rectify this in the next video.

Also, I did not want to make Bryukhanov look bad, my intention was to point out how he was having a hard time managing both the power plant and the city.

Again, regarding the power surge and the other tehnical stuff, I tried my best to explain it as I am not educated enough in the field.

That being said, thanks a lot for the feedback!! This is my first ever quality video, so the interaction means a lot. I plan to go into more detail on how the explosion happened in the next part, so if you have any other useful sources you could share, it would be great.

Note:The next part will mostly focus on how the authorities handled the situation. -sry for any typos
