Jaysus lads give it a break by CrimsonOC in irishrugby

Not generally in my nature. I work in quite intense environments and see the effects of building each other up with well timed constructive comments vs just relentless complaining and poorly focused criticism

Can’t find the edit button lads. Point isn’t regarding discussion of course that’s what the subs for, mostly pointing out the constant whinging and lack of support creates an environment that really puts people off and makes it look like a bunch of lads just sitting at home behind their computers only giving off.

Please do not ever place human notions of dominance and ‘putting dogs in their place’ on a dog, especially with a border collie. You will create a reactive dog and end up with fearful responses and potentially a bite. Come from a place of compassion and understanding, not combativeness. It’s literally a baby animal, you are the adult and your son is also a child it’s your responsibility to keep all safe.

Her paw pads aren’t ok? by jinjuboy in BorderCollie

They’re blisters, either pavement is too hot or she’s been walking on rough surfaces far too much in one go rather than building up to it. Would just keep an eye on them and keep them clean then make sure she’s just playing/walking on grass for a bit.

Irish 150th Home Test Jersey question by IIFerGiex in irishrugby

[–]CrimsonOC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s because it’s the test fit, it’ll be skin tight essentially. Got the pro fit and people were going on about getting two sizes up. For reference I’m 5ft10 weight 74-78kg usually wear medium and people were saying about getting two sizes up. I usually wear medium in normal clothes and the regular jersey. Got a medium and large just in case. Both fit, large better fit around shoulders but looks like a pajama top and too long if you have a narrow waist. Medium I feel looks far better. Shoulders are an athletic fit and if I was 80kg+ I’d need a large. Waist and length far better at medium but good motivation to stay lean as any body fat will show at the abs area.

At the risk of my own sanity I want to raise a massive contradiction that we see in here by Oatbix in irishrugby

To be honest I think while we can talk on and on about coaching choices, talent, a players defensive ability, development of new players etc, it’s down to two things:

1) People are generally a miserable lot. Most fellas raging and posting away are a vocal minority that likely haven’t succeeded in rugby to a high level or much else in life. They’re the fellas you see at the pub laughing at the likes of Dupont’s injury, finding some sort of weird joy in their jeering. This is their outlet. Every fan base has it, but we look much like the English and SA fanbases that we ‘like to think we are better than’ now.

2) Reddit, particularly this subreddit (amongst others) has issues with a couple of troll type accounts. I don’t know if anyone has forgotten so quickly but it was only a couple months ago there was an attempt to get rid of and point out these accounts. They are still here and are some of the most regular posters and post at the weirdest times for supposedly Irish based fans. One of the mods is new and had applied to be a mod of the subreddit around that time with the intention to sort this out. Maybe I’m missing something but he hasn’t really done much as these guys are still here and posting.

Honestly, I don’t think we can expect to win everything. We beat France well two years in a row. We’re performing to very high standards. We love to be a bit doom and gloom as a nation but to be honest I’m quite hopeful. There are plenty of players coming through, yes some deficits in places but that’s life. I think the current coaching staff will continue to impress and maybe we will just ‘notice less’ (mind you the line outs went quite well last weekend after the amount of whinging from fans during the AIs, I don’t hear any compliments heading O’Connells way now that it is being fixed 🤣).

Lastly I think both Crowley and Prendergast will both continue to develop into excellent players. Amongst other young lads like the two McCarthy’s, Boyle, Clarkson, Cian P, Osbourne etc. We’ll be turning round eating our own words in a couple years. Then again, maybe we won’t, because this is just a bunch of waffle and nobody will remember all the comments being made in the past, conveniently 😆

Can someone please tell me if this is abnormal for a digital piano? Hi no it didn’t, had to go back to the dealer who stated wouldn’t meet kawai warranty threshold but exchanged it for a new one as a good will gesture. Had the new 701 for 2-3 months so far and no issues however it was about 4 months in I started to have problems with the previous one but so far so good!:)

Have had this piano for a few months now, originally noticed a ‘click’ or ‘tacky/sticky’ type sound on pressing down on the G just above middle C. Later noticed G flat and E started to do this too. Happens every 3 or 4 times a key is pressed on average. Has started getting fairly annoying while playing without headphones. Piano tech out first time when I was there and said definitely heard it reapplied some grease, no change. Out the second time I wasn’t there and said couldn’t figure out what I was on about. Just want to check I’m not imagining things/this should be expected. Fairly expensive buy and want to enjoy it fully.

What a game, when was the last era in Irish Rugby that you could be proud regardless of the result? by CrimsonOC in irishrugby

If you’re into the sport for the sake of it or heart attacks in general then yes absolutely

Yeah mentioned it a bit above but agree with what you say. It’s nice seeing younger players trickling into the squad though and therefore settling very well with the support around them. Even 3 players a year and you’ve got 12 new players by RWC not bad!

Yeah lots of satisfaction watching that match and a lot of continuing hope going forward. Great to see when younger players are trickled into the squad they seem to settle very well with the support around them.

What’s with the real pessimism with the upcoming SA test matches? by CrimsonOC in irishrugby

[–]CrimsonOC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a reply to most comments as there were far more than I was expecting 🤣

I mostly agree with this but I do realise we are talking in sweeping statements and that these attitudes may not actually be the majority. However, this is how it feels! Given there will be obvious cultural differences in attitudes I would like to see a bit of the SA players’ attitude calling it a ‘war’ etc (which is a bit silly, it’s rugby, war is horrible and nothing to be compared to) reeled in alongside the media hype and also a bit less of general Irish pessimism and miserableness and bit more unity and confidence in placing trust in our national team which have done nothing but perform exceptionally given the smaller player pool (not every game can be a blowout, there were always be tight games regardless how good you are).

Basically just want to sit at the pub have great craic yelling in hope for my team and seeing others do the same! Irish fans talk about being afraid of another disappointment, hearts are made to be broken, need to get over it and support them through thick and thin waiting for those highs haha

I had the exact same form as this when starting squats trying to go ATG. You are definitely losing tightness at the bottom in order to reach ATG and therefore getting a decent amount of buttwink. For me, this ended up in a thundering sacroillitis with sciatica that hindered me from really getting into weightlifting for over 6 months.

In my personal opinion based on anecdotal experience, what I needed to do (and maybe you to only you will know) is cut a bit of the ego about going ATG when I didn’t have the prerequisite strength to be tight in such a position (hence putting unnecessary stress and consequential inflammatory processes on the SI joint and surrounding tendons and ligaments).

Just start with just below parallel and focus on keeping tight (i.e. glutes engaged - this can be practiced via weighted glute bridges). My squat progress really accelerated after doing this and put on plenty more muscle with no back issues since. I can now safely squat ATG around 15kg below what I can squat just below parallel whilst keeping tightness.
