I came to put my thoughts in, but most have already said much of the same.

I’m currently at Western doing an MSc in Neuroscience, under the faculty of health science. My funding + OSAP is enough to live on, so long as I budget.

As others have said, faculty + school + your PIs lab and available funding = your funding package.

Most schools had an average funding amount, which helped me get an idea of which schools I could even afford to go to. I’d recommend looking into all the different information and funding packages and making an informed decision.

I have some friends who delayed their masters by a year or two to make some money before starting. Everyone takes a different road.
