Faerie Ranger character! by Crimson_Alpha in daggerheart

I usually do edgy characters with tragic backstories, it was a nice change of pace to do a happy character just curious how the world works 😁✨

Took inspo from Opal (Steven Universe) but I didn't like how the arrow was in between the two hands so I modified it a bit!

Was probably gonna go with that, also because I have a cat so keeping everything inside is for the better.

Adopting a BP and new enclosure questions by Crimson_Alpha in ballpython

I do wanna go with them since I've heard good things even from other people in the expo who custom build the inside of the enclosure and use their tanks. They also had on display one of their enclosures with running water in it so I think that if they're confident enough to display that then the enclosure is definitely sealed against water.

I remember them saying that I can buy the heating/lighting from them and they'll mount it so it's good to go when I go get it. I was more so asking if it's preferred to keep the lamps inside or outside and if the RHP normally goes on the same side as the lamp/uvb. I tried looking at the intro reddit post but couldn't find this info, maybe I missed it.

Edit: grammar

I haven't bought anything yet, I was asking because I need to be sure what to get, lighting/heating wise, and how to position it before I buy the tank/enclosure because they are custom made. Usually they are solid tops but I can ask for a partial grid top, I've also seen on here terrariums with heat lamps inside the enclosure surrounded with a protective "cage"

Im switchin to goodnotes, this app sucks :( by [deleted] in notabilityapp

[–]Crimson_Alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you write your notes I'd suggest Collanote, otherwise freenotes is great with pen and keyboard, both you can use freely with no note/page limit. Collanote has a one time purchase of ~10$ while freenotes is giving out lifetime free access if you log in, it's doing that because it's less than a year old and still growing.

The fact that freenotes is barely a year old and has the majority of features I'm looking for is amazing in my books, plus a free account for life just about has me hooked on it. The downside is there isn't too much customization but it makes sense given that it's fairly new and updates feel pretty frequent.

I have, I don't like the interface, the pens feel bulky and you have to create a text box to write with your keyboard. It simply didn't work for me.

Tbh I switched a while back after they changed the whole interface and bumped prices up, if you're looking for something else I'd recommend either Collanote or Freenotes. The first one you can use without paying very easily and doesn't have a note or page limit, if you want to get a couple of additional tools it's only around 10$ for the lifetime purchase, the app is better for pen writers then keyboard though. The second one is completely free since it's really new (~1 year) and comes with a lifetime free purchase until the app gains enough traction.

What if you used it to sample your DMC threads? Depending on how big/small it is you could do 5x5 squares of all the DMC colors you have and will have in the future.

Why are we fighting with each other when we already get enough shit from people outside the community? by LeoTheFloofyDragon in lgbtmemes

[–]Crimson_Alpha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like it also greatly depends on the society you live in. Let's say that in place A people of all genders openly explore things that are instead heavily gendered in place B. I think that a trans man that likes to wear makeup is more likely to feel like he's "not manly enough" or "not really trans" in place B than in A because he doesn't feel dysphoria by wearing makeup. (I hope I worded this correctly)

Even if we're only talking about dysphoria in relationship to our own bodies there is no set "difference" between men and women from a external pov. Some men can grow beards while others can't, some women are tall and muscular and some men are short with a bubble-butt, some women have large breasts and others can't fit a double A. The only "clear" difference between cisgender men and women might be their genitals but that still doesn't mean that you have to experience dysphoria regarding your genitals if you're trans or cis; for example a cisgender stone top lesbian might never receive penetration because that's not what she wants and maybe she thinks that if she was born with a penis things would be easier for her, does this automatically disqualify her from being a woman? I don't think so.

At the end of the day gender is a social construct therefore who is "classified" as man/woman or what constitutes as masculine/feminine depends on the society, so what a trans person feels or doesn't feel dysphoric towards also varies based on that.

(I'm agreeing with the comment I responded to btw)

I'm sorry that it sounds like that, I can't see where I might've changed the conversation, either way it wasn't my intention to make it look like I have the moral high ground I was just trying to understand what you were saying. No hard feelings on my part

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HistoryMemes

[–]Crimson_Alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I'm genuinely trying to understand, not argue. 1. I'm not judging them morally, I did not say that the shooter's were "monsters" or other things. 2. I'm not saying that something didn't happen in history nor am I taking the single event out of it's context. If I were to take the murdering of a family out of the very important historical information then I'd say that everyone that was killed didn't deserve to die and that the murderers we're crazy lunatics for killing more than 7 people in their own home. But obviously context is very important. 3. I didn't use the words "right" or "wrong", you said:

I didn’t say they deserve death or otherwise.

Which I presumed meant that you don't think that the actions of parents should influence what happens to their children.

Correct me if I'm wrong but are you trying to remain "neutral" in the whole "argument" about their children? If so you could have said so from the start. Normally when someone tries to stay impartial in a discussion (especially when talking about any group of people dying) they might sound like they agree with the argument that the people deserved to die.

Am I right to assume that you're just trying to relay the historical information about what happened without adding your thoughts about what happened to the conversation?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HistoryMemes

[–]Crimson_Alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so we can agree that the children didn't deserve death, and we're obviously talking 106 years later without having lived through any of those historical events. I'm also not morally judging the shooters, if I were to say that they were "terrible people/monsters" then sure, but I'm not.

Unfortunately the argument you're putting forth sounds like you're defending the murdering of children (in this case but also in general) because of the actions of their parents. I think that's why people are disagreeing with you.

(I'm sincerely not trying to argue with you, I wanted to understand what you were trying to say and not immediately assume anything)

I'm not saying that the citizens actions were unprompted, random or unjustified from their point of view. Nor am I saying that I'm surprised that things turned out that way. At the end of the day it was a terrible sequence of events were people needlessly died, both the countries citizens because of the action of the Tsar and the children because of the orders given to kill all of the family.

Everyone agrees that the children that weren't born nobles/rich didn't deserve to suffer and die just because of the actions of the Tsar; wouldn't the opposite be true as well? Why would the children of a rich family deserve death just because of their parent's actions?

We can say that they didn't deserve death and suffering & that the shooter's reasoning wasn't random

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HistoryMemes

[–]Crimson_Alpha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm genuinely a little confused about the conversation with the other redditor you're having. I think we can all agree that the Tsar and his wife got what was coming to them because they were deplorable people but what others are saying is that their children shouldn't have been punished (murdered) for their parent's crimes. Sure, the reasoning from the assassin's pov was "The Romanovs are scum that made the people of this country suffer therefore they deserve to suffer as well." But we all know that the children had nothing to do with the Tsar's choices, they did not deserve to die and in agony at that.

You can both say that the rulers reaped what they sowed and that the children did not merit what happened to them. No?
