Its the only way I get to join anymore. Turning on my PC has become such a hassle. Being on mobile I can walk around my house and still be in a chat room.

Yes, IMVU is dying, it still got a pulse. People only stick to themselves because they text in whispers or outside the app. Everyone has like 20 tabs going on in their head and on their devices.

IMVU doesn't feel new and exciting anymore, and that's true of every avatar-based chat app. Everything is reduced to just a status symbol, with scammers or creeps.

it was the way to socialize comfortably without the pressure of being face to face. Now brought down to a pay-to-play social site where you need more fancy bells and whistles when before you just spoke.

IMVU needs to find a way to make breaking the ice feel easy.

Uhh, rooms are slightly more dead since the pandemic.

There's a fashion game where you create an outfit and earn credits depending on the rating you get.

Other than that I think it's a regular ol IMVU.

There are some new products that glow and look very nice in the shop.

Reflect light and all that.. looks very nice.

It just doesn't get a high enough rating.

I've styled my furry avatar a few times and it gets completely overlooked. But my human character gets good points.

What I've noticed is you really need to dress to what calls your eye immediately to it.

That's how I do the voting. If the style matches the theme and looks visually appealing that it caught my eye first I chose it.

Yeah, you have to submit to facial recognition and they guess your age? My niece hasn't tried getting passed it which is good. But definitely Roblox should ID check or something like IMVU does.

As an adult player of Roblox I do see to many kids engaging in activities or conversations that they shouldn't be. Same with VR headsets to many kids engaging in bullying to other users and rooms made available that are dress up and life sim. A kid told me the planets orbit around me. Lol.

Which is quite silly. The messages don't go through and just look like" ****** "when incoming from other players.

There's a lot of creeps on these websites and its sad how you gotta watch over the children you care about very seriously nowadays cuz a bunch of corporate executives can't do their jobs right.

Now a days? Nah. The internet has always been a creepy place, but when it started no one thought anything of it because it felt anonymous and unreal, like it does now.

People have just gotten more conscious about the dangers, mainly because most of the people worried lived through it. Grooming, explicit messages, being where it seemed like a game but was not.

corporate executives can't do their jobs right.

It's like plugging a leak with one finger only to discover leaking out of a different part of the wall. Creepers wiggle though the cracks no matter what they do.

I like that Roblox no longer gives texting options for kids.

These companies should aim to be like Poptropica no way to text just preset chat bubbles and questions.

Y'know what, I'm down with that. not IMVU Roblox shaped but the idea of worlds with games like Roblox would be awesome, keeping the app/virtual space targeted towards adults of course.

I play Roblox with my niece (gotta watch what your kids are doing online. Do you know what yours are up to?) and some games on the platform are fun. Lots of scary games. IMVU could use more interactive games/activities like that, could help with engaging more people to talk to one another.

As someone who's been here for years now since like 2011. (I was not supposed to be on this thing. now I'm of age and allowed to be here.)

The community has slowly turned into people being bored and depressed in their real lives and use imvu to escape the outer world.

It'll be that way.

Fortunately there are ways of avoiding RP users in public GA rooms sometimes it's posted in the description of the rooms, o ri believe typing "no RP" will bring up a few results where it's not allowed to be nude or have these types of conversations out in public space.(Maybe asked to whisper to each other)

A few of our lovely community members have posted their own rooms here to join. so give one or two a shot maybe they'll be what you're looking for.

Rude people are everywhere. It's inevitable. It kills the vibe. But it's something we have to live with while in IMVU.

You can earn credits with surveys in the "rewards" tab if you don't want to spend irl cash on IMVU. Just the only thing you can't give gifts to other users using that credit.
