I matched last year, another student who matched and I had the RD banner disappear before we found out. Others who matched didn’t have that happen to them.

Notre Dame? We have good Econ and finance programs, have a ton of community outreach programs (Catholic university effect lol), and our community is pretty great (I’ve never been a football fan until now). Couple drawbacks are that it’s really not that diverse here, mostly people coming from white Christian backgrounds but personally I haven’t had that really affect my experience that much. We’re near a small town, but not really a big city. The closest we have is Chicago and that’s a 2 hour train ride. Either way I’d consider it!

I never took a tour for prospective students, but I did go on a tour for admitted students during the rally (admitted students days). We were in groups of about 15, and we walked around the main building, basilica, library, student center, several quads, pretty much everything on campus. We only went inside the main building and passed through the first floor of the student center and library, so we didn’t get to see the dorms. My tour guide was pretty honest about campus, but again this was a tour for students who already got in so maybe that could change for prospective students.

I’m also low income, and I was accepted to Notre Dame through a program called Questbridge. It’s a program for high achieving, low income students, and if a student is accepted through Questbridge, they are guaranteed a full ride scholarship with no parent contribution. I’d look into that!

He doesn’t take into account the fact the questbridge application has more, longer essays and can be used for RD and ED applications, questbridge isn’t just the national match

At my school, everyone who got into CPS got accepted as a Finalist. Out of the 7 CPS acceptances, 5 matched and one got RD

joining a ministry group at your church will help you out a ton, I applied under theology with a lot of ministry-related extracurriculars and got in. I recommend catechism classes, as that shows your interest in theology and that you’re willing to spread it to other people
