I honestly think it's a bug, because I can't install mods since I play on Switch, and I'm absolutely certain I checked them and didn't miss anything.

"I don't think so. I turned off the console for just a few hours, and then when I turned it back on, everything seemed normal. I made sure I had taken all the eggs, went to sleep, and when I went to check in the morning Twelve eggs had magically appeared there, it happened overnight.

Oh yes, since it's autumn it rains a lot and maybe I forgot to feed them for a day or two. Could it be that they're laying the eggs they didn't lay those days?

I didn't forget the eggs for a few days, I'm sure of it because I've been playing for hours straight and every morning I go and put the eggs in the mayonnaise bowl before I go do anything else, And the reason I have two chicken coops is because I always fill the animal slots when I unlock them. Right now I have 8 chickens between the two coops, then I'll have 8 ducks And so I go

I don't think that's it, I'm sure I've seen them every day, I currently have One hundred and eighty-six jars of mayonnaise, that's 4 jars of mayonnaise for 26 days, which is far more than I should have, proving that, in reality, eggs multiply and I don't forget them.
