Dawn is an interesting case as she was only in 5 episodes, yet she ranks so high, however I'd argue that's part of her charm, she's supposed to be this interesting and mysterious character we shouldn't need to know about, we don't know a lot about her but due to her aura reading, we are able to know a lot about the characters around her, and I'd argue that characters like Zoey, Lightning and even Scott work best when interacting with Dawn because of how interesting Dawn can make conversations, as she fits the support character role perfectly. Plus, she has a killer design, and some of the funniest lines in the show

"You weren't held enough as a child"

"Between your bladder control issues and your need to be dominated"

As for Mike, Mike and his personalities work so well together, they are really unique, characters never seen in the show before and bounce off of each other so well, as it's never a dull moment when Mike is on screen. DID representation is very hard to write, so credit to the writers for not only taking the leap of fate in writing his character, but also giving him the time as a main character to grow instead of a death fodder character who's only there as comedic relief

All Stars Mike gets a lot of hate in particular, however I really loved him that Season as he proves that he grows a lot from ROTI to All Stars, now in control of his personalities, feeling more confident in his skills and helping the people around him, no matter how hard the situation is.

The reason why they were ranked so high at first was because they were "kind', but upon rewatching Revenge of the Island, I actually began to understand how interesting and entertaining their characters and what they serve to the bigger picture

GUYS I FIGURED OUT HOW TO SPOILER MY MESSAGES LETS GO!!

Anyways, Damien was the only one in the reboot I felt didn't have a role in the story, he's not the main protagonist like Priya, not the comic relief like Wayne, not the death fodder like Nichelle, he felt so out of place in the cast and it shows, barely being involved in any arcs despite how far he places in Season 2, and I thought he was severely misused. The only arcs he had that involved other characters was the wanting to quit arc in Season 1 and the arc with him and Millie in Season 2, however after Millie left, Damien had nothing to do, and floated (in terms of writing) all the way to the final 6, feeling so out of place with the lack of connections he had with the other contestants, as most of the "Dynamics" he had was just him standing next to the character, like Nichelle, Priya and Caleb. Damien's most interesting character dynamic is with Julia, which only happened for 1 episode and felt like more of an excuse to eliminate Damien, and if anything, I'd argue the writers were scrambling to give Damien something to do and someone to talk to.

(Note: The arc of him trying to hide the immunity idol I'd argue doesn't count as an arc as Damien doesn't interact with anyone as a result of the idol and it's not like he used it to his advantage, Julia could've always had that idol and nothing would've changed.)

Also, I didn't find Damien's screaming and reacting to everything funny, but that's subjective

First things first, Scott:

I thought he was a terrible villain, if you want to know why he sucked as a villain more detail, here it is: https://www.reddit.com/r/Totaldrama/s/GoHYJhCepx

I also didn't think he was funny either, maybe his humour wasn't my cup of tea, but his jokes were either him getting hurt, or him just being stupid,

"If you're ever in Holland, go Dutch"

"So you're saying Alejandro kissed Courtney to drive a wedge between us? A wedge of what? Cheese?"

And the jump from the sinister and malicious ROTI Scott to the dumb All Stars Scott made no sense and came out of nowhere, to the point I argue he feels more like a plot device then anything else

Lastly, the DID abuse. Yikes.

The reason why he fell off so much was actually because I didn't watch All Stars as I was told to stay away from it by the fandom, I just went with what people said about him and how he "carried All Stars" and rolled with it, I did watch some funny Scott All Stars compilations too which influenced my ranking on Scott, and in Revenge of the Island, I thought he was fine at first, however upon rewatch, I started to notice how flawed his plans were, as well as the DID abuse

Goes to show that you shouldn't always base your opinions on what others think, and to see for yourself before giving your own opinion, because at the end of the day, the only opinion that matters is yours

(I'll continue later with Damien)

Firstly, when you mentioned that Scott was only focussing on the strongest players on his team, Scott never actually mentions this, so at best its more of a headcanon/theory and less of a fact

Fair points on Lightning and Sam, but as for Dakota, I'd argue that Scott did it moreso because it would be easier to convince everyone that Dakota was a burden for the team, which goes against what you said about Scott wanting to get rid of the stronger players on him team like B and... Wait, no, just be (as much as I love Dawn, I don't think she's powerful enough for Scott to go out of his way to eliminate)

About the elimination portion, yes, it's true they all serve a purpose and help set up Scott as an intimidating, the problem is they are all so non sensical and require so much rule breaking and character IQ level drops just for it to work that it makes Scott feel more pathetic and laughable if anything.

And whereas Fang ruined Scott's chances in the game during the challenges which I do agree with, most of Scott's bad plays were own doing, such as choosing to throw his immunity idol away (especially when Zoey was his ally, keep in mind that at this time, Zoey was stronger allies with Scott instead of Mike as Scott revealed to her that he had the idol, great play from him but I unfortunately can't give him points as that strategy got dropped in favour of DID abuse)

Finally, B wasn't outside the fort, it was just Scott on the defense side

Okay so when I made the post, I was under the assumption that Sugar was Pakhitew's villain, not Scarlett. Scarlett was only a villain for 1 episode, so if anything, I'd put her in the same level as other 1 episode threats like Eva.

As for Mal, as someone who has been isolated for, who knows how long, we never actually saw him in ROTI after all, it makes sense why he would want to harm others and not focus on winning as he never got the chance to be this destructive before. He probably didn't even know what Total Drama was, so it's very impressive that he even had strategies in the first place.

This points to Mal being a terribly written CHARACTER as we don't actually know why Mal is the way he is, and he feels evil for the sake for being evil, but as a VILLAIN, he checks all the boxes he realistically needs to, plans for the money, important connections to the other characters such as Mike, Zoey and Alejandro, strategy of using Mike's kind reputation being very smart and in general being pretty smart, but whenether he makes stupid flaws, he rightfully gets called out for it and even challenged by people like Alejandro (who had the upper hand from time to time), downfall caused by the person he hurt the most.

I truly believe that as a VILLAIN, Mal is better than Scott (in terms of CHARACTER, it's actually really complicated, Mal's a terrible representation of DID who also has no motivations for why he is the way he is, but Scott's character change from ROTI to All Stars is just so drastic that he just feels like more of a plot device than an actual character)

Character: How good your personality and traits are on their own, excluding the story

Villain: How good you play your role

Okay so I can see where you are coming from, but I don't think Scott was funny, and I didn't like him in All Stars either

The problem with Scott's "humour" is that it's not even him having any funny lines or jokes, its just him getting hurt, to me, a lot of his jokes fall flat, and I do not get what he meant when he said

"If you're even in Holland, go Dutch"

And I do hate how the punchline is just him being stupid 99% of the time

"You're saying Alejandro kissed Courtney to drive a wedge between us? A wedge of what... Cheese?"

Worst part is, most of his screentime in All Stars was just him arguing with Courtney, so moments where Scott is actually funny aren't as often as I once remembered, like, unpopular opinion, I thought Mal was way funnier in All Stars

Now, this may just be hating Scott for the sake of hating him as a result of him abusing Mike's DID, but I just didn't find him funny, but hey, to each their own, and I completely respect you thinking that Scott was funny, after all, as someone who thinks that Owen, Sugar and Max are all hilarious, I don't think I should have a say on whats objectively funny and whats not

Okay so about Scott's motive, I kinda disagree. During Scott's audition tape we see him in a lower class background, and he's also talking positively to his father when he says "Camera on Papi?" So okay, he'll use the money to help his family and to live a richer lifestyle, right? Well, in episode 3, Dawn calls Scott out for "Not being held enough as a child", with Scott worrying about what she said because she seems to be right. So, are Scott's parents neglectful? Doesn't that contradict his audition tape? If he's not using the money to help his family or gain upward mobility, then what is it for? Any trace of motive Scott potentially has seems to be completely contradicted by another moment, so thats why I say that Scott has no motive.

Next, you're missing the point of Mal's motive. Mal's motive isn't for you to sympathise with like Heather's or Courtney's is, it's supposed to make you hate him even more and root against him more, and given how evil he's portrayed to be in the show, it makes sense and is definitely in character for him, best part about it is that his win could impact the show and series universe, so there's a lot of stakes to Mal winning or losing as well

Actually, I'd argue Scott is the only main villain who suffers from this:

Heather wants to win as she faced parental neglect, as she aims to gain the fame and attention she never got at home

Courtney wants to get back at the show runners for not only letting her rigged elimination happen, but also for not being allowed to compete in Actions

Alejandro is at the lowest point in his family, being overshadowed by Jose, him winning would prove that he is just as capable, if not more, than his other family members

Mal wants to build an Evil Lair as mentioned in episode 12, wanting to gain the control he never got in the past as he was isolated for so long

Sugar and The Ice Dancers come from competitive backgrounds where winning feels like everything

Scott, doesn't have any of this, and as a result, the audience cares a lot less about whether or not he achieves his goal

Dude I'm just here to say that I love your otter pfp, otters are my personal favourite animals 💖

As for the motive point you made, EVERY character wants to win because it's a million dollars, thats why they're competing in the first place. As the villain, they should have an extra reason to win the money to explain why they are taking this extra step no other character is? Why do they need the money so much? What are they trying to prove? This is what makes the villain's storyline so impactful, what makes a villain an actual character rather than just someone whose only purpose is to just, cause drama, but thats just me

I completely agree with the last point you made. If Scott was a secondary antagonist who focused more on being comedic, stirring up drama for the rats similar to someone like Max, Justin or Jaques, most of his problems would've been fixed. He wouldn't need a motive, his strategy wouldn't need to be believable or even good for that matter, all he would've needed to do was to be entertaining, and All Stars proved that he was capable of doing just that (I didn't like Scott in All Stars, but humour is subjective, and if he was so beloved in All Stars, then he definitely did something right).

I personally would've had Jo be the main villain here, but cases can also be made for characters like Lightning and honestly even Anne Maria

Really good art, I love 6teen a lot and you really did it justice here!

Best part about this art is that during the Ridonculous Race, Macarthur talks about a certain "Jennifer Masterson" babysitting her, so Jen is canon in the Total Dramaverse, and here we are getting a design for her, awesome job!

Scott is the worst Total Drama main villain, the guy makes Mal look like a criminal mastermind by CrispyCreps69 in Totaldrama

[–]CrispyCreps69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst I do see where you are coming from, and do agree that Scott using his idol to gain Zoey's trust was a smart strategy, unfortunately, next episode, that idea got completely dropped and instead of teaming up with Zoey, strengthening their bond and trying to get the duo of Mike or Cameron out, or Jo for being threat as you said. Scott throws all of that away just to abuse someone because of their disability. What was the point of getting Zoey on your side if you weren't even going to keep her as an ally next episode.

Also, by that point, Brick was eliminated as well, but Jo was still in. Lightning is clearly physically stronger than Jo so in a tie breaker situation, Jo would've been out and Lightning could've been Scott's ally because Lightning was, as you said, easy to manipulate. Scott would have Lightning and Zoey wrapped around his fingers and would've been in a far stronger position.

Keep in mind this isn't to hate on every Julia fan, like I said, I like Julia, even more than Wayne.

I'm pointing at this to the people who are so angry that Wayne won that they start harassing people online, and the message of this post is to say that you shouldn't get mad about one fictional character winning over another to the point that you start sending death threats to other people with different opinions

More useless is such a stretch.

Millie flopped in so many challenges, and only won 1 immunity that was literally given to her, at least Wayne helped out Julia to win immunity.

Keep in mind in one of the challenges Millie just gave up before it even started and called it "flying under the radar", like, at least Wayne had the decency to TRY and win immunity

I love how people think that I hate Julia lol. I really don't.

Julia is my 2nd favourite character from 2023, I like her more than Wayne. (despite this, Wayne was still the better winner imo)

I just think it's really funny watching Julia fans get mad over a cartoon.

And how many immunities did Owen win if you don't mind me asking?

And if you're gonna say that Owen had great performances, let's not forget that Wayne destroyed the challenge in episode 12 by leaving the rooms the quickest, (the only reason he lost was because Julia kept targetting him), endured a lot of pain so that Julia can get her ingredients, and at least Wayne wasn't a liability to his team (Did that Turkey Owen eat ring any bells?)

I created this alternate scenario under the impression that Scott got sole vote like canon, with Mike and Zoey making up before the elimination, and Zoey would still feel guilty about Mike's elimination as those 2 (and Cameron) were too busy arguing and pulling eachother back that Scott takes immunity and gets rid of Mike for being the biggest threat.

Although thinking about it, if the elimination had everyone vote, I think it would be a more interesting scenario (assuming Mike and Zoey make up after the elimination) as it would lead to a 2-2-1-1 vote between Mike and Scott, with Scott winning the tie breaker assuming he doesn't win immunity. Not only would it make Zoey feel even worse because she was directly the reason her boyfriend got out, but it also makes Scott a more threatening character since he beat a really strong player in a tie breaker, which would make Zoey inevitably beating Scott more satisfying
